I wouldn't be embarrassed at all, in fact I would be proud. It's clear he's already thinking about how to spend his money and he's looking after it. Perhaps he didn't want to ask his parents because he didn't want to embarrass them; it looks as though he lost out either way.0

I've got too much of a conscience to do something like that and keep something for myself that had been donated to charity in good faith. I'd have passed it on for the next charity event the school or other organisation was doing.
I work in marketing, so have in the past been the person responsible for giving out these 'freebies' I can tell exactly what are genuine causes or not.0
