Octopus Fix Ends 30/09/2026 - what do I do next?
Hi all
As per the title, my fix with Octopus ends on 30/09/2026 and my annual bill is £1566.
Octopus' current 12M Fix is £2003 per year (so over £36 per month more).
E.ON Next have a 12M Fix for £1863 per year (so just under £25 per month more)
What would you do in my situation? Should I look to fix again ASAP and if so do I stick with Octopus or move supplier or do I sit tight for a couple of weeks and keep checking?
TIA

In your position I'd do a full comparison using MSE Cheap Energy Club or one of the other comparison websites.
And then see whether the cheapest tariff is available with cashback from Quidco or TCB, or whether there's a referral scheme.
You'll probably find that Fuse or Ecotricity have the best deals for you, but it will depend on your actual usage.

My annual usage is:
Gas: 13563 kwh
Electricity: 2481 kwh
The E.ON Next is the cheapest 12M Fix on the MSE Energy Club tool at £1863 per year plus £20 cashback.
I suppose ultimately my question is do I sign up to this now or do I check back again in the next 2-3 weeks given that my current fix still has a 4 weeks or so to run?

Remember you have a 14 day cooling off period when you sign up to another fixed tariff. I locked in 3 days ago but I’ll still be shopping around.

That's a great point.
I think I will start the switch to E.ON Next and then keep a close eye over the next week or so. Ideally I would prefer to stay with Octopus as I haven't had any issues with them but ultimately I want to find the cheapest tariff.
