Given his efforts to reduce inappropriate use of his name by scammers, etc, it does only seem a matter of time before this gets taken down, despite being published by a satirical site…

THE UK’s leading financial expert Martin Lewis has recommended spending cash on escorts and good times because life is ultimately a finite resource.

The money saving expert has warned Britons that ISAs and pensions are all well and good but you could be run over by a bus tomorrow and will wish you had not left all your funds mouldering in accounts offering a 4.75 per cent rate of interest then.

Lewis said: “Put aside for bills. Prepare for contingencies. But life is short and it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven so f**k it, go nuts.

“Once you’ve kept cash back for food and rent, plough your spare pennies into lap dancers with names like Crystal and Simphonie. Ultimately, when everything you ever earned is going into exorbitant care home fees, you’ll be glad you did.

“Struggling to scrape together their hourly rate? No worries. Just follow all the tips I’ve dished out over the years, like changing utility providers and switching credit cards. You’ll have enough cash to hand over to a brothel madam in no time.

“As for women, see some knobs by hiring a strippogram or going to a life drawing class. Whatever it is you do. This is one area where I’m no expert.”

I don't think the danger is of someone believing an article they read in thedailymash, I think it's more the occurrences where AI consumes something like this then regurgitates it as fact, as famously happened with the satirical article by the onion: https://theonion.com/geologists-recommend-eating-at-least-one-small-rock-per-1846655112/ leading to AI LLM's suggesting people should consume rocks as part of a balanced diet: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd11gzejgz4o

The danger here is someone uses a LLM, asking what Martin Lewis recommends for long term planning and the AI forms a response combining various sources and represented as fact along the lines of "Martin Lewis recommends saving and investing diligently for your long term future, but also making sure to enjoy the present, such as spending money on sex workers."

Trouble is trying to find anything satirical (or even just amusing) in that Mash piece. Not exactly Swiftian biting irony is it.

And Radio4's Dead Ringers have been doing Martin Lewis for years.

It's hard to find anything satirical, or even just amusing, in the hugely unfunny and painfully self-satisfied Dead Ringers either. It's just north London dinner party sneering paid for by the non-listening masses.

Not one of The Daily Mash's best pieces. It doesn't really raise to the level of satire, just a pretty lame parody. I assume that this bit of writing was a product of the editors' early participation in Burnham's youth work experience program. I'll stick with Private Eye and Viz.
