Shrewbie! Shrewbie! Shrewbie! Shrewbie! (la la la la la la!!!!) ♥️
Today is my first day off for 8 days. 2 loads laundry done, 1 load of drying, 2 tarts baked, 1 loaf of over-proofed bread baked ( flat but still tasty) DHs laundry was folded and put away ( grrrr!). Caught up on V1g1L and Tr1gger Point. Bins emptied.
Plan for the rest of the day is to iron work shirts, pack my case, wipe round the bathroom, Hoover ground floor, clean the kitchen, bake a cake, and leave the house a lot cleaner and tidier for DH coming home on Sunday pm than he left it.
I am off to the South Coast for work all next week. There is no phone reception or Internet access. It is the town that time forgot, so I will disappear for a week.
Take care Turtle Friends 🧡

Ugh, I have caught the GCs' back to school cold 😏 I am asthmatic so these things are always a nuisance. Breathing is sooo over-rated 😄
Got a few things done - main bathroom cleaned, load of washing done and put out on the line, made tarts with roasted veg from the garden and some reduced puff pastry from L*dl. I am not cooking anything else, so that will have to do for dinner.
Main problem is lack of sleep. I was awake most of the night, and tried to sleep for a while this afternoon but couldn't. I am rubbish at sleeping!

Wotcha turtles! Sorry I've been absent. Pip had a shocker of a time starting college and has had 3 days off to try to recover already. It's not helped by his draft ehcp not turning up, after the legal deadline. Our coordinator left the service last week and appears to have not done it. She never responded to our phone messages or emails. Ever. So disappointing. A senior manager will look at it and issue it this week, they say. But that's10 days too late for Pip…
practically everything else has taken a backseat as we try to sort things out.
In other news, I've almost finished shifting the soil and laying the slabs at the front of the house. I don't think I have enough to do my back garden project, so I will take the car to where the workers have moved to, and raid the skip there 🤣. I'm enjoying the physical labour involved, but my hands limit me so I only do it every other day at the most.
Today I am grateful for having a very lazy day, for seeing progress in the front and back gardens, for dh buying me some flowers, for curry to look forward to for tea.

Tired today. I've had a low grade infection for the past few days (I sneeze occasionally and explosively) and am very tired. Going early to bed, sleeping multiple times after I've had my pills, afternoon naps but stilla ble to sleep at night. At the moment I'm going with the flow as the sleep helps with me cope with pain and I am still trying to do a few bits each day. Today I've been out to the bins twice and loaded the washing machine after DS3 had removed the quilt from their room. I'v eaten leftovers and finished off bits from meals on other days.
I want to do more but will try to balance rest and progress over the coming week.
Grateful for books, films and pillows (to support parts of my body and stretch others)

Feeling a bit better today 😊
Just as well, as I have the grandchildren again after school tomorrow 😀
Not much done, as I have been prioritising rest while I have the chance, just some tidying, posted some e*ay sales, a little bit of gardening and OH chopped up lots of veg for me to make shepherds pie and chilli.
Shopping tomorrow, but I am having my scraggy hair cut first. I hate going to the hairdresser but needs must!

I could barely walk again yesterday. It took me 3 hours to get ready and I didn't get through my list. Went to Coffee and Chat but was the first to leave (it was breaking up). My new knee wraps arrived but they fell down when I stood up. I ordered 2 types and today put on the 'sleeves', basically a bigger, thicker, stronger version of a supprt bandage but I am more comfortable with them on.
Dozed after Chat yesterday but today I have put on a load of washing, taken cans and green waste to the bins and took the bin to the collection point. I've had the link to my first group therapy session which starts tomorrow- yikes. I think I have the usual questions to go through before the session, I'm goiing to do as much 'getting ready' as I can this evening (shower and more of the extra grooming bits) so I'm not rushing in the morning.
Thinking positively, if I'm this bad, mentally and physically, I can only improve.
Grateful for good books and films, starting therapy and kind knee supports.

The group was good, thanks. Getting there wasn't easy. I didn't want to go in the shower, I made myself and I shuffled in there, holding onto every rail and handle available. By 9 am I was dresssed but had missed out lots of tasks including some of the everyday essentials. I was also completely wiped out.
I was supposed to do the questions before the session (it throws up any serious - immediate interventon - issues and also monitors impovements as the course progresses). I couldn't find the letter with the internet address or the 2 ID codes. I created a 2' heap on the bottom end of the bed as I dredged repeatedly for anything that might have fallen down the side of the mattress. No joy. I found the original assessment letter which had one code and I had log in details on one of my phones (which had to be charged the day before. In the night a plate had fallen off the bed and shattered. By some stroke of good luck most of it is in between the bed and the trolley (foot end of the bed), not obstructing my path. I did the questions but I think the first ID code sent it to the person who did the roriginal assessment. Don't care, I did it.
It took me half and hour to move myself, the laptop, a pen and paper, a book (for the wait) and drinks, across the room from the bed to the sofa. I set up the link and accessed the meeting. It said someone would let me in shortly. I found the course booklet. I waited as the start time passed (when I did this course 4 years ago I had to phone the office who contacted the course leaders, who got me in at half-time). I was let in 2 minutes after the start time and they decided to wait another 10 minutes as several people had not arrived. They were lenient as the course was for people with long-term conditions.
Course was good, lots I'd heard before but sometimes you need to go over it again. I only jotted a few words in my diary, things that are particularly relevant to me and possible courses of action - ACCEPTANCE and SIMPLIFY.
Wiped out again. I ate from the 'picnic food' items I'd bought, move back to the bed when I could in the hopes of sleeping for a while. I was very indulgent and took out a 7 day free trial to watch a seroes based on some novels I love. Did the whole of the first series yesterday and really enjoyed it (but a late bedtime).
Grateful for the course, leaders and participants, good books and drama series (current book is romantic drivel but a very relaxing change) and some ideas about the way forward.
