£4.18 spent today on Tuck at Tesc@. Slightly underestimated by 33p so had to add that.

Bought soya milk x 3 (two for DD1and one for myself. Two white vinegars (one for each of us), and some bananas

Spends to own up to.

I had a voucher for £2 off a £20 spend for T3sc0s. Not a shop I frequent - although it used to be my one-stop shop (in the blue and white stripe valu era…..) - as I perceive it to be 'brands orientated' and more expensive. However, I had this voucher, and I know it's not good practice to 'assume' so I constructed a list of things needed. As I was going around the store, I was finding that things were more expensive than eg Sainsbugs or Leedle, and not just by pennies, but by 20p an item. I did spend over £20 - and so got the discount. but at least 33p of the £2 voucher was eaten up by higher prices. I was lucky that both little gem lettuce and red onions were CC priced, so I saved 43p that I hadn't envisaged. In total, I spent £18.81. Walking around the store, the home delivery pickers were doing their usual trick of mowing down in-store shoppers (particularly bad at that store), and witching and moaning about management - something customers don't need to hear. However, the lass who served me on the till, was lovely, very interesting and just a joy to be helped by. Plus T3sco has space to pack at the till (you needn't dawdle about it), which Aldee (and the nearest Leedle store) don't have. I have to say though, today's shop won't entice me back to be a full time T3sc0 shopper. I like T3sc0 for some things, but not everything, and that particular store just isn't a nice place to spend time.

I then popped into the library, and then g00utd00rs, before wending my way back towards home via that (blue) co0p. I spent a further £1.14 on 4 pints of milk and 6 salad tomatoes. I had a coupon for money off tomatoes, and a £1 off my shop. I bought the tommies, because 6 toms for 49p, is a good deal, and also they were UK grown, which is always a bonus 👍

£19.95 spent, in total on food.

Hopefully that is it for this week, as i want to save a 'bigger' shop for next week to take advantage of my £5 off a £30 shop at Leedle. I won't be doing my grocery shop at T3sc0 next week - unfortunately it is still a store outside my budget, but I'm glad that I went today. I thought they were bringing back the blue and white striped valu range, but everything today was still the st0ckw3ll/h0me farm type branding.

Another 2 spends to report £64.68 in A!id on the usual and £21.01 in Sainsbobs on some nectar price offers. Total of £85.69 for the week.

So that’s not too bad, I’m considering using any food budget I have left at the end of the month to boost my pantry, I’m finding I’m doing a lot more baking and preserving.

Morning all. I did my weekend shopping on Sunday this time around and spent £44.35 at Morrisons and £25.34 at Lidl. There was lots of stocking up done at both places such as paper towels, pasta, pasta sauces, eggs, etc. 

This morning I visited M & S to lessen my usual Saturday morning shopping load tomorrow and spent £30.15 there. Never go shopping hungry, especially first thing in the morning! I succumbed to 2, yes two!, yellow sticker desserts. Oy vey. My purchases were strawberries, bananas, lemon, onions, various types of yoghurt, baked beans, coconut milk, compost bags, double cream, baking soda, cocoa powder, a YS apple crumble, and a YS triple chocolate cheesecake. Mr. Jings was longingly eyeing up the desserts at 9:05am…

Total £230.55 / £325 spent. £94.45 remaining. 

I’ll head to Savers, Lidl and Morrisons tomorrow. We have a lot of meat and veg in the fridge and freezer so what I’ll buy will be the more daily or rarer supplies like butter, bread, dishwasher salt, bleach, sausages, etc. I’ll try to keep my spending to about £35 this weekend.

Well I may just have qualified for dunce of the year! Last weekend I assumed there were 3 weekend shops to budget for in September, giving me just under £70 per week remaining. But there were actually only 2… so having set myself a strict £70 budget for this weekend's shop and almost managed to keep to it (£71.05) I'm fairly well quids-in for the rest of the month! But I expect I'll manage to "lose" it somehow… and if by any chance there's anything left, I'll mark it for "family contingency" & use it up next time we have an invasion!

An additional £20.72 to own up to, spent today. I went to buy some non-food items (including food storage jars and a saucepan), and was the right side of town for fArmf00ds. I bought 2 bottles of olive oil and 2 flat packs (24 tins in total), of tinned tomatoes. I also spotted some madarins in juice, pr1nces brand, so I got two of those. £18.94 spend in FF. Then I went to bee&Em and bought 2 tins of condensed cream of mushroom soup - they used to be cheaper than the bargins of home shop, but I think they match now. Another £1.78 to add.

I've updated my siggie figgie, and hopefully that is it foodwise until next week. I was very proud of my restraint in FF as that store was pretty fully stocked with the pulses they sell - they even had 4 bags of black-eyed beans (my fave), but I knew that I had at least 6kg at home to use, so I walked on by…….

4 small shops to declare since my last post:

Tesco - £9.15/£10.04/£3.50

Co-op - £1.10

- £23.79 spent. Just buying the bits I specifically need even if it means more trips to the shop. it does mean Co-op and Tesco are my only real options as if I drive to Lidl I will buy more so taking the slightly higher cost for the restriction of not buying extra. Will keep to the same logic through the rest of the month now.
