Beware of Amazon Prime Unauthorised Credt Card Withdrawals
This is a warning for anyone who has their credit card stored with Amazon. On 2 occasions, they have taken money from my account for Prime membership without my permission. Fortunately, I spotted the emails and cancelled immediately. The explanation was a 'system generated email'. When I complained to the UK Head Office, they were extremely evasive and even tried to blame Google. They also refused to give me an explanation or a commitment that it wouldn't happen again. My only option was to take my credit card off their system. Beware!

Amazon make it very clear when signing up to prime for the free trial.
It won't happen again if you follow the cancelation process before the end of your trial.

Did these charges happen when you were buying something or were they totally random?

Did you have Prime membership, even if you thought it was the free trial? It is very clear when accepting the free trial that the monthly fee will be taken automatically if the membership is not cancelled in advance.
To be fair to Amazon, cancelling the membership is very easy.
OR - did you mean that money for Prime membership was taken at some other time when you did not have Prime membership?
