Problem with Klaussner furniture company - Gone BUST

We bought our settee and dining room table from Klaussner in Bolton two years ago and are paying for it on interest free till next January. We were told that there was a 10yr guarantee on all products and i have just found out that the company went into admnistration last year!

Who do we contact for the fault with the table and do we still have to pay the rest of the money if we cannot get in contact with the company????

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks

the company guarantee is prob worthless now.
you do have some comeback against the finance company though.
get in touch with them with your complaint.
when courts furniture went bust, the finance companies lost 45 million quid in total.

    ps.
you can expect 1 or 2 more furniture retailers to go bust soon.
scs and land of leather are in real trouble. sales have fallen off a cliff and so has the share price.

    there maybe trouble ahead.

transfer of the debt? your finance agreement is with HFC. a bad debt is not applicable here. you still owe the money, even if the retailer goes bust.

we are talking faulty goods here. and the finance company has a responsibility just the same as the retailer. ie just like using a credit card.
the figure i quoted was for servicing/refunds those goods on finance after courts went bust.

  • We also bought furniture including a sofa from Klausner 2 years ago, which was damaged getting in the door, they sent someone out 3 months after wards after repeated requests to see the damage, nine months after that the replacement still did not turn up.Then I heard they went bust.We ordered ten pieces of furniture in one order from them. It took them nearly ten months to get most of it,they could'nt get 2 of the pieces but we did get a refund luckily.
  • i am thinking about buying a car and it is on hpi. the bloke who is selling it says the company has gone bust, but when i asked if i would get the car took off me i was told no ! as they had gone bust and they cant take it off you. also they saying that it will never be out of debt even in 30 years. will me buying this car effect me at all and will it get took off me?
