Morning all, thanks @Ruby, enjoy a well-deserved holiday and try to not worry about your mum - you never know, she might surprise you and enjoy her stay at the respite home.
It's cloudy but dry at the moment with sunny intervals promised for this afternoon. I hope it warms up a bit - I felt cold all day yesterday and even found myself (briefly) thinking of putting the heating on for a while! No, it's far too early in the year for that, although Autumn isn't far away now and yesterday I saw my first wasp of the season. A nicer sight was some dahlias in someone's garden; there were a couple of huge open flower heads in a deep red colour with plenty of buds waiting to open. Curtains now being drawn by 8.15 pm.
I've nothing exciting planned for the weekend but will occupy myself somehow, there's always something to do. I'm on the last leg of a cross stitch so might tackle that. It's the final outlining bit that I'll be doing freehand rather than following the chart, I find my way looks neater than theirs. I've defrosted a tub of bolognaise sauce, the last of the disappointingly bland batch I made a couple of weeks ago, and will be adding some sliced mushrooms and chopped chillies to perk it up for tonight's tea. I have a hairdresser appointment next week and hopefully a meet up with an ex-neighbour for a coffee and catch up while she's here visiting her son and his family.
Have a good weekend all, take care. xx
