Looks to be a nice day in the making although it’s a bit cooler atm.
I woke at 6 and thought I may as well get up we need to get to bed very early tonight as we have to be up at midnight so an early morning this morning might help me sleep early evening.
Last bits of packing to do today and have a tidy through, dinner will be some chicken thighs and maybe rice and veg.
We dropped mum off yesterday and it was horrible walking away and leaving her there, I’m not sure how well she will settle but we will have to see.
Have good days all and take care xx

Good morning, thanks for starting Ruby.
It's understandable that you feel bad about your mum, but she'll be safe and looked after, and you need your holiday.
It's fine and dry here, but cool, only 10°.
All my fine talk yesterday about freezer tidying and hedge cutting came to nothing, I did do other worthy jobs, like a proper clean of the bathroom, and seemed to be out with the dog a lot. We will have to cut the hedge though, or people won't be able to get in the gate.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, thoughts to the sad and poorly. Take care folks.

Thanks Ruby, have a lovely holiday.
Might actually be able to pull out a few weeds in the garden now we’ve had some decent rain, it’s been nice not having to water the veggies.
Not much change here, haven’t managed to get DM out of the house, she doesn’t seem inclined. It’s good we have a large and colourful garden she can look at. The main other issue we have is the stairs, fortunately she’s only going up at the end of the day but I think a stair lift discussion is needed.
Hope everyone has a good dayAA

Good morning Redruby, it must have been so sad for you leaving mum, hopefully she will be ok, try not to worry and enjoy your holiday.
Today I'm off to As*a to pick up a few items I ordered online from their home range. I've got the email and text telling me it's ready to collect but doesn't tell me where to go. I think I'll just go to customer services and see. While there I'll pop into the PO next door for stamps, I've got a few birthdays and anniversaries coming up. Oh, and there's a cs nearby, so I'll have a browse in there.
Burgers in brioche rolls tonight, last night's tea changed when DH popped out for dog food and came back with half price Chinese chicken wings, very tasty they were too.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning @RedRuby1231 Morning all
Hope you get some sleep before your midnight wakeup call Ruby and you have a lovely holiday and your mum copes while you are away
Football season has started so plenty of matches to watch over the weekend. No other plans here except rock cakes to make this morning and persuading DH that the easiest way to clear up the patio after the workmen left some mess after doing the floor is to get the pressure washer out. I bet he decides to make it harder work by doing it another way!
Have a good day all x

Morning folks and thanks for starting off RUBY. We are promised a slightly better day today with temps up a degree or two. These last few days I have felt quite chilly. It's been a shock to the system after those long hot days!
I was up and at 'em early doors and now showered, fed and watered waiting for DS and an early trip to Sainbobs. He and his DP are off to another wedding and wants the shopping out of the way early. . I swear they are professional wedding goers they go to that many! I used to work with a woman back in the day who we swore was a professional funeral goer as she seemed to take time off at least once or twice a week for a funeral!
Once home and the shopping put away the day is then my own. I'll see what I cba doing - or even not doing!
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need. RUBY have a fantastic holiday and try not to spend the whole time worrying about your DM as she will be safe in good hands I'm sure. YL my fingers are still crossed that your DS gets something soon. Take care all, stay safe x

Thanks for the start Ruby, enjoy your holiday and remember you are doing the best thing you can for your DM.
The weather was lovely yesterday for a change, no rain at all. I had put washing in before I went to work but it hadn't finished when I left so spun it when I got home and it dried outside in a couple of hours. Also went to dig up some potatoes (not many beans left at Allotment 2) and cleaned the car inside and out. Not sure where the sudden burst of energy came from but it was good to be outside.
Shopping, allotment 1 and some garden tidying to do today, the bedding is just finishing so will put that out before I have a shower.
Hope you're all well and have a good weekend. Take care. XX

Morning all - thanks for the start @RedRuby1231, have a lovely holiday without worrying about your DM's safety. I'm sure that once she makes a couple of friends there she'll settle in, it's all so new.
As the morning mist cleared yesterday the drive down to the hairdresser was the loveliest yet. Hair cut and coloured successfully. I dropped into a wee cafe at the steamer terminal to pick up a still hot buttery with cheese and ham. So unnecessary but so tasty. The grass had been cut whilst I was out, what a pleasure to see it all shorn and tidy again.
Today I have some financial stuff to tackle as a couple of fixed term accounts are maturing, I need to find new homes for the money otherwise it'll fritter away. Apart from a visit to the dump I have nothing else planned. The weather is back to grey and damp, last night I put a blanket on the bed and slept so well.
Take care all - hugs to everyone. xx

Morning all. Definitely colder here now but still sunny.
I've put a small load of washing on and then most of my day will be taken up cooking for a bbq at DD's tomorrow. DH is going to make the garlic bread but I'm doing puddings and a couple of salads, one of which really needs doing tomorrow morning. It's a fennel and tomato salad so new to me. DS and family are coming and they have just exchanged on their flat so a busy time ahead for them.
We looked after DGS2 yesterday, who is almost 3 and has become a real chatterbox. He's at the "why" stage of questioning, which is mentally tiring.
Off to get going now. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Morning everyone
It's cooler here this morning, but forecast to be dry for the next few days so that's good. It got dark a lot earlier last night and I closed the living room blind for the first time in ages. I'm getting my hair cut this morning, then both little one and baby will arrive at some point, they're staying tonight and tomorrow night. Little one looked in my fridge yesterday and has requested gnocchi for tea.
We had a lovely day at Lillidorei yesterday, she climbed up high to come down the highest slide, which is very high! It was a bit chilly at times and there were short spells of drizzle but the sun eventually came out about 2pm, warming us up a bit. I ordered a tin of clear waterproofing last night, so plan to get the summerhouse done at the beginning of the week before the rain comes back…I've had 5 weeks off work, but as usual have left the biggest job for the last week!
Redruby try not to worry too much about your mum, I know how hard it is , I came out crying several times in dads' first few days. Enjoy your holiday x
Wickedlady - Little one is 7 now and still asks why constantly, though I often don't know the answers to her question now and we have to ask google!
Hope everyone has a good day x
