CCJ added to my Credit Report but not received anything
Hi,
Hope you’re able to help.
I logged onto my credit report yesterday and noticed a CCJ had been added to my account.
I phoned the CNBC this morning and found out that it had been added by Horizon Parking (or more their solicitors Gladstone Solicitors) for a parking issue back in 2024. They’ve registered it (and must have sent all paperwork) to an old address of mine (not been there for years) and it’s not where my driving license or insurance or car is registered.
The guy at the CNBC said the best thing for me to do is to contact Gladstone to try and resolve it. Is that the best thing to do? Is there a better way to deal with it? I couldn’t even tell you what the issue was as I’ve never received anything, but I don’t particularly have the £300 (and something) to file the N244 to have it removed from my file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

hi, yeah it was on the credit report. Beginning of June 2026

Is the date important as you have only X days to challenge it or something??

If the CCJ is less than 30 days old, paying in full will wipe it from your credit record, but that's the last resort.
If it is more than 30 days old paying will not remove the judgment, it will remain for 6 years, marked "satisfied".
Regardless, Gladstones should have done a search to ensure they had the correct "address for service" before issuing the claim. There is a binding judgment to support this (VCS v Carr).
The aim is to get the judgment set aside and get your money back from the Claimant for the N244 filing fee.
You should give Gladstones the opportunity to agree to a set-aside by consent because there's a lower fee for this, but expect them to ignore and force the standard route.

Do the application. This will work.
Costs a £321 fee but you'll get that back due to them using an old address and the fact that 'costs are in the case' because it isn't allocated to the small claims track.
DO NOT PAY IT OFF but you can of course send the email (first) that you read about when you read the NEWBIES thread post 2 section about CCJ set asides.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
