Ukpc parking fine for blue badge being obscured from view

Hi all

I recently received a parking fine from UKPC for parking in a disabled bay. The reason for the ticket was because the driver of my car had failed to notice that a packet of dog treats was on top of the blue badge. As we are in Scotland, and I am the registered keeper but was not driving the car that day, I appealed using a template provided by this website. I have since received a reply stating that I have identified myself as the driver and they are asking for details of the blue badge. I have asked AI and at least 6 people to read through the appeal and at no time do I ever say I was driving the vehicle. Im at a loss as to what to do from here because I feel their tactics are very underhand.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

You could reply with a redacted picture of the blue badge, obscuring the first half of the reference number and also the picture, plus state that you appealed as the Registered Keeper and you were definitely not the driver so cancel the pcn because there is no keeper liability in Scotland and the drivers details will not be divulged

Ps, its definitely NOT a fine, just an invoice from a private parking company UKPC, no biggie, especially not in Scotland

They will say anything to get you to pay up. You're in Scotland and if you used a template from here you have not admitted to being the driver and you can relax :)

I wouldn't bother sending a photo of the badge because they will not cancel, they will try and claim you owe a £20 admin fee instead. There is no need to pay this either.

Simply ignore them. They can't do anything. Even when they do make court claims in England they always discontinue.

Hi everyone

Thank you for your replies. They were very helpful. Im going to leave things as they are and see what their next move is. Something I forgot to mention was that there was someone in the back seat of the car. They saw a person walking round the car then they took a photograph from over a hedge. They also weren't wearing anything to identify who or what they were. Cheers
