Recommendations for somewhere that's not Hastings Direct pls

Hi,

I have a Toyota Aygo.

My daughter (20) is insured with her own policy to drive my car with Hastings.

My son (20) recently set up a separate policy with Hastings to drive the same car.

We've just been informed that one of them has to cancel as they don't offer a dual policy on the same car.

Decided to keep the daughter's active as she has built up 1+ year experience now.

I'm having trouble finding a reasonable quote for my Son, that's not with Hastings.

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Many thanks..

Have you been through the various comparison sites?

Quidco offer cashback on some policies, I'm sure Topcashback will do to.

Things that are different: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

Contrary to urban myth it is not illegal to have two full policies on a vehicle it is however unadvisable and can cause all kinds of complications because both would be the RTA insurer of the vehicle.

Net result isnt going to be any different, if your son drives the car drunk your daughter could be made to personally repay all costs to the third party but in a more straight forward case of the car being stolen it could have the claim significantly delayed as the two insurers argue over who has to cover the loss and likely to result in both having a claim/losing NCD as the insurers share the loss.

The better solution is a top up policy which sits along side your daughters and only response for an accident where your son is driving the car. Anything else, like vandalism or theft goes on your daughters policy as the top up policy doesnt cover it. Admiral and Marmalade are the bigger providers but there may be other niche ones
