Hi All
Firstly thanks again for helping me understand something I knew zero about 12 months ago, or cared about ! A short update since my Heat Pump was installed 4 weeks ago and we finally had a cold few days this week.
My Heat Pump uses weather compensation to control the properties temperature. HW cycle runs once a day when the cylinder temp drops below 44c and stops at 48c, takes about 20-30 mins. The timed programme is the 1 Legionaire cycle a week. No other timed programming required only tinkering with a few setting to get the inside temp as needed as the weather gets cooler.
I have switched to Cosy Octopus and Outgoing Octopus. The Tesla app has been set to savings and appears to top up the battery during the 3 cheap periods. Initially I though why do this when its been, or is, a sunny day. Then I realised the buy and sell price were the same at 12p/kWh.
I have also looked at Agile Octopus and over a year ChatGPT estimates I would save £100 - £200. However as was mentioned this seems the wrong time to move to that tariff, a lot less solar and Octopus' price is likely to increase during dull, windless winter days ahead, so I dont feel lucky 😂
Overall very happy with where we now are.0
