Parking Eye Claim Form

Dear Forum,

My partner received this from Parking Eye.

Particulars:

She received a call to go to the hospital where her dad had been rushed due to a stroke (haven’t got proof of this but could likely get it) on 22/4/22. The car park isn’t part of the hospital, but sits over the road from it. The machine wasn’t working and she didn’t have the app so text me and I paid for two hours. She ended up overstaying (we think it may have been 19 mins but aren’t sure) and by the time i received her request to extend it it was too late - I work in a clinic and was unable to see my texts all that often.

What really annoys me is their claiming ‘damages’. I mean what damages has this company suffered? I’ve read the Newbies thread but I’m unclear about what to do next. It feels particularly unfair because the parking meter wasn’t working and she was using the car park to visit her gravely ill father. Why on earth they can’t just have a system where you pay on exit to get through a barrier escapes me.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated before I just pay to make this whole thing go away.

Just use the Chan and Akande version of the Template Defence, for cases where the breach hasn't been specified.

No need to add any facts because the claim will be discontinued by the New Year. Defended DCB Legal / ParkingEye claims are always discontinued before the hearing fee is due.

They are seeking CCJs and money, not hearings. Easy as pie to sail through and not pay a penny.
