DCBL High View Parking Issues
Hello,
Please bear with me this is a bit of a long one.
So around a month ago I received a letter from DCBL stating I had a CCJ of £315 against me for a unpaid parking charge from high view parking.
This CCJ was issued in 2022 and the original parking fine was issued in 2016!
Now the thing is I never received the original PCN through the mail or I would have paid it, same with the CCJ documents!
I stupidly phoned DCBL because it was genuinely the first I'd heard of the PCN and the CCJ. I requested evidence, because I couldn't believe what i was reading in the letter, so far no evidence as been provided.
I received a second later today stating that I had 14 days to make payment from the date of the letter. It also states it's not subject to high court enforcement but if I do not pay in time their client may decide to take this further.
I've never been in debt in my life, and I'm now also worried this is either going to get higher, or I'll have bailiffs turning up at my door.
I'm genuinely worried, and !!!!!! off that this as been going on behind the scenes for the last ten years without having any idea about it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated about what my next steps should be.
Thank you.

"

That would have been the last thing to do. Nobody pays these invoices and the stupidest thing to do with a parking claim form is pay it!
Clearly you have had this CCJ for 4 years and it hasn't affected you at all, so I would suggest - as long as you aren't planning on getting a mortgage soon - the best course is to DO NOTHING and let it fall off your credit record after 2028.
Sounds like you failed to update your V5C address when you last moved in 2022 or before. If you never got a PCN or reminders, it clearly all went to your old address, which was on your car logbook.
Is that oversight now corrected? Was it simply that this PCN was around the time of a house move?
No bailiff will come knocking.
Are you OK with leaving it for 2 years? All you will receive is a letter or two. Nothing happens.
Does this CCJ show on your credit record or not?
Sometimes they are missed and never affect anything. Check Trust Online and tell us: is it there or not?
AND NO PAYING IT.
That doesn't wipe it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I would have paid it to save the hassle! Like I said I've had no idea about the CCJ so it came as a shock.
Not sure if it's on my credit file, never even crossed my mind to check because I didn't know about it. If I don't pay it can they issue another CCJ for the same fine?
I think I will just leave it then and let it wipe itself from my credit.
Disgusting what these companies put people through, they all want shutting down.
Thank you for replying, I've done nothing but worry about since I received the letter.

"If I don't pay it can they issue another CCJ for the same fine?"No. Impossible. Time is ticking on it and it clearly hasn't affected you.
I told you exactly how to check if a CCJ shows on your credit file so no need to wonder about that. But no worries!
BTW it wasn't a 'fine'.
These aren't fines and good people DO NOT pay these invoices for an easy life. That's sponsoring & funding a rogue industry.

Very good point about sponsoring and funding them to go after more people. Thank you for the help.
