My meters are further from each other than yours and work fine. Mine are on opposite sides of the house on different floors.

That's good to know, I'm sure mine will be fine then, it will be nice to get a new modern looking meter, it's in the cupboard under the stairs and very old looking

As long as the pipework on your side isn't lead. They not allowed connect to that.

It took about 90 minutes and it was a total replacement of meters. Also gave me a warning notice for my gas fire and boiler as hadn't been serviced since early 2024

That was a quick appointment, did they say why they needed replacing, was it just because it was SMETS 1.

Mine was done today, no problems with replacing old gas meter so that was good. I did gain £40 though as they were running a bit late so my appointment was rescheduled slightly later, it took about 90 minutes.
