Smart Parking demanding nearly £1000
Two months ago I experienced an attack of Gout which made walking incredibly painful. I live on a canal boat which was moored adjacent to a private car park. In the evenings this carpark is completely deserted. On a few occasions I parked in the evenings in the car park while transferring work equipment/shopping into my boat. The alternative being a walk of roughly one mile. I saw a doctor during this time and am being treated for the Gout condition.
Some time later I received six penalty charges from Smart Parking. I challenged them all and they were all rejected. I then attempted to appeal via the IAS portal only to be constantly redirected back to the Smart Parking website. With what seemed no alternative I challenged again using the Smart Parking website. This morning I received a total rejection plus a demand for full payment. I have since discovered that this glitch in the IAS appeals process is well known and has trapped many motorists.
There seems to be no way of disputing these charges.

No penalty charges were issued by Smart Parking , just Parking Charge Notices

"
this glitch in the IAS appeals process"What glitched? I believe you but I've not seen that happen.
Just ignore them until LBC stage though, because presumably you already argued an Equality Act 2010 'reasonable adjustment' point?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Its where the operator doesn't upload the pcn info to the IAS

Interesting. So they reject an appeal but don't interface the case to the IAS so the victim can't appeal to the kangaroo court even if they wanted to?
Have you also seen this with Smart Parking?
