Morning, thanks Gers
It's grey here, but mild, our outdoor thermometer says 15°.
Yesterday was warm - not as hot as some of you further south are having but warm enough for me.
It's getting dark so early now, but has to happen I suppose. I don't like autumn, such a melancholy time I always think. Sorry, I'll be depressing everyone, you'll be crying into your morning cuppas! Still, we've still got some summer left.
We're going to an afternoon tea laid on by a friend at her house this afternoon, no particular reason, she just wants to do it.
Ah the cold North Sea Dp1! When our Australian family were here last year our grandsons were horrified by how cold the sea was! We went to Whitby for the day and they went paddling - they're used to the Pacific.
I didn't realise seeing patterns had gone up to that price YL, by the time you buy a pattern and fabric the cost will stack up. I don't sew as much these days.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks GERS.
At last the heat is due to leave us today and the temp much more bearable. Still no sign of rain but apparently there will be some around from Monday for some lucky areas.
No plans for today, and shopping is not until tomorrow so today may well be a bit of a catch up day of all the jobs it's been too hot to even think about. I may even make a proper meal as not much left in the way of picky bits.
I haven't heard whether Bus Buddy's op was done as planned yesterday. A worrying time for her family and I don't want to hassle them for news. DF's DH had a ct scan yesterday so now a wait for them for more news. They do seem to be taking all his health problems more seriously now after all the fobbing off. There will be no further news on DD until she goes back for the biopsy result on the 24th. Why does everything take so long.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or sad. Take care x

Sleepy Saturday? I only managed five hours last night, most unusual. Perhaps because I went to sleep so much later than I normally do, the problem is that I still wake up with the birds. Perhaps I'll catch up tonight.
Yesterday was a day of oddities. The grass man didn't come, he thought he was due next week, so next week it is! And I went to my GP appointment and hour early 🤔better than an hour too late I suppose. Anyway, now on a new med to control the issue I had in hospital the other week. I've given in and faced it, the evidence from the blooming Apple Watch persuade me. All's good.
My washing dried in good time even though there was no sunshine. I'll take the bedding to get ironed at some point. Where I go is having a gala day so it'll be packed with fun-seekers with even a road closure for the parade so it can wait until Monday.
This morning I have to drive up to the big town to collect and order from Marks. The lovely linen trousers I got last week are too baggy round the pelvis, they are a size 16, so I've ordered a size 14 though I strongly suspect that they will be too small. One can dream! Later on friends of friends are arriving in the area for a two week holiday so, no doubt, we'll meet up. They are strangers to me which means I am slightly anxious about them. The woman is best friends with the niece of Lionel who I only met during his very quick death in January. I'm happy to advise them where to go etc.
That's my day. I hope that all are well. Love reading about being in the sea, gardening and more content parents. Take care xx

Morning - thanks Gers for the start.
Been MIA but DM was discharged on Tuesday evening, since then it’s been busy with District nurses everyday, a scan, occupational therapist yesterday as well as general care. She’s is better in some respects but still very tired. Oncology review in a few weeks and there are probably more things going on there but she chose not to have a further biopsy as the result would have made little difference to any treatment. For now we will just see how things go but must add that the NHS have been amazing, very responsive to needs and referrals to other services as well as cheerful and helpful to DM and us.
Trying to get much else done isn’t easy but might be better now the stupid hot weather has abated.
We’re just a few miles away from the terrible fire in Stourbridge and in fact the house that our previous neighbours moved to was one that was destroyed, fortunately (for them) they had subsequently moved again a few months ago. It’s made me start thinking about doing a bit of emergency planning as we back on to a huge forest and the thought of a fire is terrifying.
Anyway that’s a brief catch up, I’ll try and read back but in the meantime send best wishes to allAA

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope the smaller trousers fit.
Sounds like a great afternoon Scarlet.
Glad it isn't so hot for you TA. Hope there's good news from your Bus Buddy.
It's bright this morning but no sunshine forecast for today although due to stay dry so the bedding is out on the line. I've stopped using fabric softener on the bedding as it seems to make the bed hotter but the quilt cover is quite crispy!
Allotments to visit today and a bit of shopping to do, the little one is staying tonight whilst her Mummy and Daddy go to a housewarming party, they will come and collect her tomorrow morning. No doubt she will want risotto for dinner!
Work was a little easier yesterday but still lots of problems, Monday will be interesting!
Have a good weekend, take care. XX

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
Haven’t been on this week as lots happening at the house. Wardrobes delivered and assembled but not fitted, greenhouse footings dug and filled in plus brickwork started. Could have done more but a lot of time spent waiting for deliveries - ‘first thing’ is either 10:45am or 1:30pm apparently….
We’ve had details of the funeral so are trying to book an Airbnb for us and ILs. Will find out today whether BIL will be able to swop his rota/take time off which will mean either a 2 or 3 bed property required.
Took Mum to a NT property yesterday and then started to trim a hedge in her garden. I’m going back again this morning. If I don’t, she will be up a ladder doing it herself at 84 (not even joking) as she won’t be told.
Dinner is stuffed (humongous) courgette from the allotment - will do bolognaise.
Hope your friends and DD don’t have to wait too long @TravellingAbuela 🤞🏻Glad DMum is home @AlwaysAllie xx
I’ve taken a leaf out of your book @IzzyBee and have an informal interview at a charity shop on Monday. Need to keep busy!

Morning all. It finally feels cooler here but still waiting for rain.
DH went to Costco yesterday for 3 things and then realised the air con in his car had packed up again. Booked it in but can't be seen until 22 September so hope the extremely hot weather doesn't return until after then.
Today I'll be mainly cooking to take nibbles to DS and family tomorrow. If the weather is genuinely going to stay cooler that will mean I can get out and do other things which have been neglected because of the heat.
Our mobile phones went off with that fire warning yesterday early evening; made me jump!
Hugs to all and have an enjoyable weekend.

morning everyone thanks for the start Gers wow a size 14 that’s what I’m aiming for even if they are a bit snug you will soon fit into them keep going well done . Coxy it’s one of the best things I’ve done I will be honest when I went I told them I didn’t want to work on the till I’m afraid I’m all customered out to many years working with the public but I do occasionally you do get the odd stroppy one but I’m afraid that’s just life and it’s only one afternoon I can smile and remind them it is for a hospice I don’t think 3 pieces of school uniform or any 3 children’s outfits for a pound is breaking the bank but they still complain I had a women yesterday saying but I’m only buying 3 shirts it would be better value if I got a blazer but I don’t want one I just smiled but not with my eyes . YL our patterns are only a pound and we have boxes of craft stuff from 10 pence anyway enough advertising I’ve never been as well dressed since working there the perks of sorting. AA take care of yourself as well you have had a lot to do I’m pleased you got your DM home . I’m so pleased it’s a lot cooler today I hate the cold and I never thought I would hear myself say I wish it wasn’t so hot the last two days have been to hot much more bearable today . I need to make a list need to pop out for some shopping some housework to do I’ve got a line of washing out it will soon be dry dogs are snoring I will take them out later . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Morning everyone
It was hot here yesterday, though our hot is about 10 degrees cooler than those of you in the south, I had a lovely sit outside reading and did some garden tidying after tea.
Cooler today but dry, we're supposed to have showers next week. I have both children coming to stay tonight and tomorrow night, no plans for them other than playing and a show at the library on Monday morning. My friend has her grandchildren staying for a week so no doubt little one will be out playing on her bike with them.
I can't remember if I told you all, little one has to have both legs in casts in a few weeks time, just the second week back at school in September. She walks on her tip toes, she's been seeing a physio for ages and still can't walk heel toe as it hurts too much. she can walk flat footed and is fine riding her bike. Anyways the ligament in the bottom of both feet needs stretched so she will be in plaster from the knee down and then they keep getting reset every week. ..they think it's been caused by her being so premature. Hopefully just for 6 weeks, she's worried about going to school, it's another thing to make her 'different'…I feel so sorry for her.
Right I'd best get on, I've some ironing to do then I'll go into town to get some bits and have a look in the charity shops, like everywhere else we have several! Izzy yours is a lot cheaper than they are here, I think it's because we get a lot of tourists, though we do have one with a big basket of kids clothes for 50p each.
Always Allie pleased to hear your mums home, take care of yourself too x
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all
Lovely day here again bit I think a bit cooler which is more bearable there is a cool breeze too which is nice.
We have my sister and partner and mum coming for a bbq this evening for my sisters Birthday which is during the week, they are veggi so I have an assortment of veg to cook on the bbq including coconut infused carrots and cauliflower with garlic butter. There will be meat for the meat eaters too.
I want to get the food prepped this morning and then a bit of housework and then in the garden to have a tidy up.
We took big dog for x rays yesterday as she is just not getting any better, turns out she has a problem with her spine and has bone rubbing on bone Unfortunatly there is nothing they can do for it, we have to control it with drugs for the rest of her life and she can only do short 10 min walks twice a day, bless her it’s so sad to see but could have been worse.
Have good days all and take care xx
