Moorside second letter of claim different reference
Any advice most welcome:
I received a Letter of claim from Moorside (on behalf of NCP) on 30 April 2025 - followed the forum advice and responded with suggested template via e-mail on 25 May 2025. They finally responded on 22 September 2025 noting that I was 'seeking debt advice' and putting the matter on hold for 30 days. 'If you fail to make payment after the 30 day period has lapsed, we may be instructed to issue a County Court Claim against you'.
I heard nothing until today when I have received ANOTHER Letter of Claim from Moorside, but with a completely different reference. It is for the same parking episode and both letters are from Moorside.
Should I respond as I did last year? Should I ignore and await the court claim as previously threatened? Should I state that I do not recognise the reference and have no previous correspondence under that reference?

I don't know why some posters keep talking about Moorside Legal's own ref. It's irrelevant! We keep seeing people say they got a fresh LBC this year with a new ref. They are allowed to try again and they can change their file ref if they want.
Just repeat the process.
Which PPC and what's the backstory?
You have read the CMA's news last month about investigating parking firms?

Apologies for my clear stupidity. Sorry to offend.

You didn't offend and you certainly aren't stupid but this is just a solicitor's new 2026 file ref. Forget that.

NCP at railway station (Cambridge North).
Vehicle photographed entering car park at 15:57 and 44 seconds. Lower rate off-peak parking starts at 16:00hrs. I paid for off-peak parking from 1600hrs (time to find space, download app etc). Still they have chosen to hound me for the 'unpaid' £170 PCN.
Have replied with same response as last year. Thanks.

Wow that is abject scammery! You paid after the lower rate applied. No judge will find against you.
Did you ever admit to driving? Hope not! There was no keeper liability at railways until last Boxing Day 2025, so you cannot be held liable as registered keeper.
This would have been a pushover if you'd appealed as keeper.
Why not robustly quote the CMA's 'Open Letter' about unfair and inadequate consideration periods (Google it, read the July news about the CMA's damning initial findings!) in your reply to Moorside this time, and also ask for proof that NCP's administrators, PwC have instructed them.
A firm in administration cannot sue without permission (from PwC in this case).

Thanks, great advice 👍🏼 Pretty sure I never admitted to driving, but did forward proof of payment of the off peak rate in my initial appeal.
Will add those points to my reply 🙏

What time did the proof of payment say it went through, you obviously have time to park and pay after entering they are just trying it on.
