Court letter issued

Would appreciate some advice here - Back in March i parked in a car park, used the MiPermit app to pay for parking and took the kids to the pier for a couple hours. Back well within time of ticket.

When I received the fine I sent the receipt over as proof of payment only to get back a rejection saying I had paid for the wrong car park. And that particular car park wasn't on the MiPermit list. I countered that I would pay the original ticket amount then as it was a genuine mistake and they refused saying I owed double the fine now.

I left because, well.. life. And now I have a court letter and they want over £200 which i can't afford. Do I have a case for unfair charges? It was a parking eye car park apparently. But I've parked there before and always use the app so I obviously didn't read the sign to see it had changed hands.

When you say court letter what exactly do you mean?. I'd suggest posting a copy with all personal details redacted as I suspect it is just the usual begging/threatening letter that these companies send out.

Oh and it isn't a fine it's a speculative invoice.

As above, post a redacted picture of the letter, but redact your name and address, reference number, password and the VRM details first, leaving the other details and all dates on show

    Easy to defend!

Is it a Claim Form like all the others you saw when you read a few threads before posting? You know what we need to see if you've read some Claim threads.

Apologies I should have uploaded that with my first comment. I've done the acknowledgement on money claim. Just need to file the defence now. I offered to pay the ticket price as was a genuine mistake but I'm not paying the 100 quid charge that went with it..
