Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
I was woken up very early by torrential rain, apparently it's going to be a nice day but it's not starting off very well!
Started back at work yesterday, it was total mayhem with a new computer system that doesn't work very well - can't find files, can't save files, no updates. Back to it today, hoping it's up and running again before the children come in on Monday.
Hoping everyone is well, take care. XX

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Grr CAMELOT going back to work is bad enough but facing chaos when you get there makes it worse. I hope today is better.
We hit the promised 33 deg yesterday and I coped with that by skulking indoors with the fan on but the heat in the bedroom at night was unbelievable. I was tossing this way and that all night with very little sleep getting done. This morning I feel like a washed out old rag. The promised dust and vac up and down may not get done today! Oh well there is always tomorrow.
I seem to have been living off picky bits this summer and getting a bit fed up of them now. I shall have a freezer rummage next and see what I come up with for a change.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and sad. Thoughts with the MIA and hoping they are ok. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning, thanks Gers.
No rain here Camelot, though we could do with some. Sorry to see that it wasn't a good start back at work, hope things improve. My great, great nephew lives in Glasgow and he's starting school this term.
It was very very hot yesterday, think it's got to be a bit cooler today.
We had a lovely visit from my nephew and his wife yesterday, I had some photographs of his dad, my deceased brother, for him. We had a lovely evening, just talked and talked.
I've got an blood test appt today, and am visiting a friend later. That's the events do today.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Good morning
Bright and sunny, forecast to be a bit cooler, yesterday hit 36degs, it was still 27 at 10pm.I told DH I'll never complain about the cold again, although of course I will.
Seeing the fires in the West Midlands is very upsetting, we are surrounded by very brown crispy fields here in East Midlands.
I doubt very much will be done today, apart from trying to keep big dog cool by sponging him down, he won't lay on a cooling mat.
No idea what's for tea, it's a case of what we fancy. The freezer is full and isn't going down at all.
Have a good day all, take care.

Bedding has been changed, machine chugging away and first coffee being drunk. There's a brisk wind, signs of overnight rain and bright sky so it should all dry well when on the line. The temperature is not high, think the estimated high will be a bearable 21 degrees.
Yesterday I futteredthe day away until I found that the new series of Reacher was on Prime, thoroughly enjoyed all three episodes ☺️ apart from discovering that they now have adverts. And they are un-skippable. Rubbish!
This morning the grass-cutting chap is coming, he'll make short work of taming the lawn. I'll go out after he's been to deadhead my inula hookeri, that may encourage more flowering, or not! Later on I have an appointment with my female GP, she knows me better than the one I spoke to on the phone the other week so will get a more measured response.
I hope that you all are safe indoors from the southern heat. Hugs to poorlies and those who are sad. xx

Another hot one today. Can't wait until tomorrow when it drops a few degrees!
Well we are at the finishing line, the lads should be done by lunchtime and we can then get everything put back and get back to normal, although we might do the bulk of it tomorrow when it's a cooler day
Yes @remmie so very sad to see all those houses on fire. Those poor people have probably lost everything.
@camelot1001 you'd have thought the computers would have been well tested before you all came back! Hope today is less fraught
Have a good day all x

Another scorcher here 🥵 up to 38 yesterday, when we are on holiday in Greece it will be like respite from this hot weather 😂
Dd and I had planned to go to Dunelm today to look for bedding and curtains for her I will see if she still fancies going as it’s really hot, we were taking mum who wants to buy her something but will see if she still fancies going.
Dinner tonight will be ham egg and chips it’s a bit hot to have the oven on for the chips really but I don’t have another way to cook them.
Wm is on and that can be hung out shortly and I need to have a hoover through and mop the floors.
Stay safe in the heat everyone xx
Have good days all and take care x

Morning Gers, morning all.
It's going to be another hot one here today with temperatures in the high 20s; after yesterday's airless 30s that's going to feel like an improvement!
Once again I shall be doing what needs doing in the morning and that will include a stroll to the shop for milk, fruit and salad bits. Thanks to all the recent no-cook meals, the fridge is woefully empty of fresh food and what's in the freezer isn't exactly suited to this hot weather. I have, however, defrosted some smoked basa fillets that will do for tonight's tea and I'll make up fruit & jelly for afters. This afternoon I'll be hiding away from the sun while I do the Friday admin and then I'll see if I can tinker with my existing dressmaking patterns to bring them a bit more up to date. I had thought of getting a couple of new ones but was shocked at the prices - since when did they become £11-£15 each? 😮
@NRA - So sorry to hear your trip to France left you disappointed.
@camelot - Oh dear, that wasn't a good start back to work, I hope the computers are sorted out quickly.
Stay safe in the heat, drink plenty of water and don't be rushing around - things can wait until it's a bit cooler. Waves to our MIA, hugs available for those needing them. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
it’s 34 here this afternoon feel like a wet rag
Need to a very little ironing will see if it cools in the evening
Stay safe all
