EurocarpPark multiple tickets issues.- advice on pursuing appeal worth it

ello everyone - just posting for some help and guidance.

Some background the multi story near my office has recently changed ownership and the new owners use a pay by phone on arrival system. We have a code for people at my office to pay a flat fee of £6 for 12 hours.

Unfortunately in the last couple weeks I’ve three parking notices issues for
I didn’t pay on arrival but noticed at the end of the day and bought parking
I just forgot to pay parking completely
I have mine and my wife’s car on my account and paid for parking but forgot to switch the reg over

I don’t mind paying the fine for the day I just forgot to park - this was my fault and they reduce it from 100 to 60£ if paid within 2 weeks

The other 2 fines I can’t help but feel like I did my due diligence - i bought 12 hours of parking to leave straight away without knowing I was issued a fine and the other I had valid parking for a car registered

I’ve already appealed the first which was rejected and I’m considering appealing the second

Is it worth taking these to POPPLA or are they likely to be rejected too? Otherwise I’d pay the reduced fee for all of them….

Any help is really really appreciated as I’m a little stressed about all this - thankyou to anyone who takes the time to read this and help!

It sounds like the two disputed notices are worth challenging, particularly where payment was actually made or there was valid parking on the account. I’d keep all the evidence of the payments and registrations and see what POPLA says before paying them. The forgotten payment one seems harder to argue, but the other two appear to have more grounds for an appeal.

Definitely Not fines, nobody received a fine , just invoices from a private parking company ( is it ECP. ? , Euro Car Parks. ) , or another private parking company with a similar name. ?

You don't have any fine. As you rightly say, these are invoices.

Nobody pays these inflated invoices, all the time the industry remains unregulated.

Did you miss the BBC news last month about Euro Car Parks being investigated by the consumer protection regulator, the CMA?

Re your PCNs:

The first one seems the one to maybe appeal and kill off because you paid in full whilst the car was on site, so this PCN breaches the Code of Practice. You can pay at any time when it's an ANPR car park.

However did you also pay for the wrong car that day? Makes it more complicated. Check that now.

If yes, you can add to the appeal that you paid in full while on site but the app defaulted to the wrong vehicle which is a 'major keying error'.

As such, they must offer settlement for £20. If you are comfortable paying one lot of £20 then do that.

Personally, I wouldn't pay a penny because the sector is a bunch of greedy, anti-consumer, unregulated 'cowboys' who set out to frighten and intimidate people for their main profits, but I am telling you the material information so you can decide.

The other two, ignore and let ECP sue you via DCB Legal. Dead easy to defend, template defence! And they always discontinue so there's zero risk, no CCJ, no hearings. Nothing.

You could ignore all three and let them all go to DCB Legal for a pointless claim game. Which is what I would tell any friend to do because it's the easy route and doesn't line the pockets of rogue traders.
