DRP parking fine - but have proof of payment
Hi everyone
I apologise if this is posted twice. I wrote the whole query then it disappeared 🤯
I've received the unpleasant red marked parking penalty letter from DRP and they've sent it to a old address we left in 2023..?
It's regarding a leisure centre / I take my son swimming there. As soon as you're in the building you pay the parking online through ScanPay which I do religiously every time + screenshot.
I have bank statement proof of pay (£6) and just wanted to ask if I should email DRP back with the proof OR ignore..?
From what I'm reading DRP isn't exactly a "honourable" company so I'm terrified of any contact tbh.
I'm genuinely grateful for any advice🙏

Presumably they sent to the old address because the V5C hasn't been updated with the DVLA since you moved?

How did you manage to get the letter if they sent it to your old 2023 address? Is that old address still on your V5C?
Read NEWBIES Announcement thread POST 4 - Debt letters also note Change address section.

As above, make sure your V5c is at your current address
DRP are the jokers of the parking scam with their stupid letters which look like the front page of the Beano
Just money scammers to ignore

Thank you everyone for comments. I received the letter from our old flat simply because it's 2 buildings right next to each other and residents + postman is very good at recognising us residents that have only moved next door.
Should I instigate contact with DRP by sending an email with bank statement proof or is that just opening a defeat less process…?(Which is what I'm terrified of)
With gratitude 🙏

Ignore the powerless debt collectors letters
Which private parking company

Nobody is terrified of DR Plus! 😝
Which PPC?
"I have bank statement proof of pay (£6) "OK.
Send that proof to the DPO of the parking firm and DR Plus and ask them:
- which of them is going to put their hands up to be next in the firing line of the Competition and Markets Authority, or are they both going to apologise and close the case?
- And by the way, my address for service - if you are stupidly aggressive enough to carry on unlawfully processing my data after seeing this valid evidence - is NEW ADDRESS and you must erase the old DVLA address immediately.

The company is called Debt Recovery Plus. They are asking for £170 ??
It's from the car park for our local Leisure Centre/ swimming centre which used to operate a 20p token to open the gate when leaving. It's now operated by Gemini Parking Solutions Ltd and you have to go online and pay asap after entering the Leisure Centre. It's been in effect since around March and in the beginning lots of people forgot to pay because there were no instructions inside the centre on how / where to pay. There's still only one poster by the car park exit which shows a QR code and website details. I added it on my phone and it's been straight forward to pay each time + I've screenshot the website receipts.

So , is the DRP client Gemini Parking. ? Or was it a different private parking company. ?
They ( DRP. ) can certainly ask you for £170, but they won't be getting a penny from you. !
I can ask you to pay me £170 for this reply, but I wont be getting a penny. !
So nobody is getting any money from you. !

We know about DRP these scammers have been around for years, they are just dumb profit hungry and useless.
You had a speculative invoice from chancers called Gemini you don't have a debt, they allege you owe them money, and there certainly won't be any mention of a "fine" or "penalty" on any sign or paperwork if there was the company would be in deep do do.
Stop worrying these are just businesses that have found a way of extracting money for very little effort by sending letters with scary red ink and threatening looking explanations of how the world might end if you don't pay them by a certain date.
You should have gone to the management of the leisure centre and firmly asked them to call off their dogs, meanwhile follow the advice Coupon M has given, she knows her stuff and has also been on the government appointed group trying to sort these jokers out for some considerable time.

Just send what I said but obviously read the CMA's Open Letter and consumer protection investigation first. Google it.
