Passbook Savings Accounts
I have been helping in-laws sort out paperwork and bank stuff recently (PoA are in place but not enacted upon yet, we're not quite there yet).
They used to have passbook savings accounts but these got replaced with cash cards and statements, but they don't use cash cards, paperwork get bagged up and stashed (not really filed) and they really would be happier with a passbook account reinstating.
Local building societies look like the only option - Cambridge and Yorkshire available here. Anyone aware of any other options? Even building societies seem to be getting rid of the passbook too. Sometimes the passbook is only issued if opened in branch and some societies require you to be local.

Skipton do passbooks if there's a branch near you? Dudley, Earl Shilton, Scottish, Nottinghamshire. Obviously I don't know where you are, so a bit difficult to provide advice.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1 -
Yorkshire BS used to do. I still have one but not sure if they issue them now since the 'revamp' as they've closed my local one and it's a 50mile round trip now so I'll be giving it up.
Shame, it has the feeling of putting it into something
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Yorkshire BS definitely still do passbooks as I have one, but no doubt the option to run without them is cheaper for them and various online only accounts don't have one. They recently ran a promotion offering £10 if you download the app so no doubt if you have the app, passbooks will be retired in due course (pure speculation on my part) or just better interest rates on online only accounts. Still have a local branch (actually an agency but for all intents and purposes it works and looks like a branch) so it works for me.

Newcastle do passbooks on all their accounts (and possibly their Manchester BS branch do too) but you can only open them in branch if you want a passbook.

The biggest BS- Nationwide do not have passbooks anymore, although you can still have a branch based account using a card, and you can get printed mini statements I think. In any case their branch based savings rates are very poor.
