My kitchen light is half hanging off!

Hi all, just heard a strange crack in the kitchen followed by something falling to the floor. I've realised it's part of my kitchen light, a small clip(I've handled it and it's not actually brittle, I can't break it further) but the whole thing is hanging off now, attached by what I'd assume is one other identical clip on the other side. I can see a small metal bar. I've no idea what to do other than call an electrician and order a whole new light. I'm stressed the things just going to drop down whilst I wait on me or my pets.

Any better ideas!? Thanks

    Looks like it is this:

I can't see that you'll pick up the specific bracket for it anywhere, realistically I think you're looking at a replacement.

Changing it for a different light is extremely easy, most could do it themselves (obviously make sure you switch off the electrics first), but of course if not comfortable then get an electrician out. Maybe as a compromise, try yourself and if you can't do it then get an electrician?

This is the DIY forum after all, and on a moneysaving forum to boot - it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth to potentially pay an electrician £150 or whatever for a literal 5 minute job swapping a £30 light.

EDIT: sorry a UK listing https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08R5VZF3D

(not that I'm recommending it, random chinese brand and not my taste lol)

No need to be scared of wires if you turn the electrics off first..

It won't fall on you or your pets. It will most likely stay lopsided as it is or worst case, it will dangle by the wires.

if you decide to give it a go, when you expose the wiring, take a photo before you disconnect it. Makes it a lot easier (potentially) when you come to wiring the new light in👍

A picture of the back of a pair on Amazon (showing the burn marks from when they failed after a few hours use 😲). Should come with an easy connect / disconnect Wago type connector. You should be able to pull the little toggle on the other end and release it from the bracket and maybe repair it. Both the links in the earlier post have pictures and videos.
