I chanced upon this whilst trawling Facebook - has one unusual perk apparently - free airport lounge access if your flight is delayed 90 minutes or more.

Also a facility for applying for refunds when compensation is due.

No fees on foreign transactions when purchasing goods or services.

Anybody got one and had experience of having to use the lounge offer ?

Given the queues to get into the (non-premium) airport lounges (1 out,1 in) that flight'll be ready to go before you get near the free drink.

But I guess it's free, so no harm in getting one (bar the credit check).

It's not that unusual, its actually a service offered by visa (I had it with my revolut card). Mixed experiences, sometimes it worked fine, other times the lounges were full, or the qr code never arrived, or you couldn't get to the lounge from the departure gate....

Overall the lounges weren't great. Generally crowded with poor food and drink.

It's a reasonable benefit as a back up, but I certainly would get the card just for that.

Thanks - we haven't had a long delay scenario (yet !!!) - just curious.

I have a good friend who has twice been delayed to the extent the flights were eventually cancelled, might interest him.

It depends really. At two hours in many scenarios you can just go to a restaurant, keep the receipts and charge the airline for EC261/UK261 right to care expenses (ignoring the €6 voucher the airline may try to fob you off with), and that's likely to be more pleasant than most UK pay lounges for the outbound flights.

In the other direction you'll find the lounges tend to be the same ones the legacy carriers use, they can be OK, and as a free benefit you might well find it helpful.

For refunds, it's almost always best to go direct to the operating carrier.
