Garden buildings
I am moving to a house which has a garden building which looks natural wood but different colours due to the weather. Anyway I was considering painting the decking and summer house grey but worry it may be costly as I need someone to do it? I’m also keen to some sort of decoration and screening. Also it’s likely October so I reckon I may not even get a day to get it painted so may have to sit as a project for months.
Inside It has mdf panels I think ideally I’d plaster but but Google says that’s costly. Seems of have full power inside but not sure if I can have wooden floors then or better with LVT?

My initial thoughts would be damp. I know it;s garden building and not a shed but I'd assume not built to same regs as a house.
If it were me I'd give it a winter and see how it goes, unless it's been there years of course and there is no sign of damp, mould etc.

"Garden building" covers a wide range of options, from a bog-standard overlap shed to a fancy-pants double-glazed garden room.

Thanks yes my worry is the weather won’t be any good in October. I looked at a treatment to keep the wood is that better and cheaper is painting better?

No point painting decking. It will get scuffed and the paint will quickly flake off where feet walk. A stain that soaks in will last longer, but it may not take depending on what the wood has already been coated with.
Plastering over MDF is likely to fail fairly quickly., especially if it gets damp in there. The MDF will swell & contract causing the plaster to crack. A grip coat will stop it falling off but won't stop the cracks.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
