Hello all. Lovely and cool today, but HB I'm still not wearing a bra!
Today I have walked Poppet, done dailies and watered garden, two wash loads that are now on the line and popped to see DGD3 to take her birthday present and cake.
Now relaxing before watching football later. I shall fly tomorrow when DH goes away for a few days to clear his mother's house.

Afternoon all
Since it's cooler I have invited the family round for a roast tomorrow. One way to galvanise me into action - currently tidying up and putting away. More mess than usual as I am prepping for my stall at the Crafters Bazaar next week - I have lots of jars of colour-sorted buttons to sell fling.

The thermometer is showing it's cooler but it's still a bit hot for me. Just had a roast dinner as we're expecting a visit tomorrow but don't know when so it's easier to do the roast today. I'd be happy with a sandwich or some soup.
Not enough washing for a load today. Newspaper didn't turn up at the local shop so DH ran me up to another shop and we had a walk along the river and then a coffee. Nice to have an outing, we don't normally go anywhere at the weekend.
Not planning to do anything else x

Wren woke me up digging frantically on the carpet next to the bed this morning, which meant something had terrified her. A minute or so of trying to calm her down meant I heard the alarm going off that she had, so I let her out and came back in to identify it - the carbon monoxide alarm's batteries had given out yet again. By the time I'd disconnected it and gone back outside she'd made herself a den in the shrubbery and she was absolutely not going to come out. In the end I spent an hour sitting on the front doorstep with a cup of tea and Twitter before she emerged. Batteries are currently recharging and will be reinserted before bedtime. It's great she's got such good hearing because it didn't wake either of us up but she was completely on it.
All four loads of washing folded and put away. Tomato plants hacked about a bit and lots picked which is good because we're having TikTok pasta tonight. I'm addicted to it. I'd love to go braless Jazee and do if I'm walking the dog at 6.00am but if I'm out and about when there are people I really need one. I'm at the age when my boobs have settled their dangle around my waist and I remember as a child wondering why some women of a certain age were that shape. I'm that age now and I don't want to be that shape in public.
The last packet of biscuits is still intact. I forced myself to have a few almonds instead and that worked.
All prepped for an intermediate navigation course on north Dartmoor tomorrow to learn how to take bearings, a lifetime's ambition. I got lost a couple of years ago in a mire on Dartmoor as the various ancient ways aren't signposted and while I could dead reckon my way to where I needed to get to, I'd like to be able to know how to use the kit I carry properly. Last week's Beginners course was excellent and as I'm a self-taught map reader I figured it would be good to go back to basics and I was 100% right. I didn't know what I didn't know, but the chap was excellent so I'm going back for more. I've been watching the forecast like a hawk because it was hotter than hot with no shade; very fortunately for me it's now saying 23° for tomorrow which is a lovely temperature. I got through a litre of electrolytes last week and still chugged a huge amount of water when I got back to the car. Worth it, but goodness it was a hot one.

Evening peoples, and than k you ladies for the listies.
Been AWOL again as had 3 busy weekends, first with the Grandkiddies staying over, then my Aunty staying over and then last weekend we were away in the tin tent for a few days. Oh and have been dealing with not 1 but 2 dental abscess which I am sure has not completely cleared with the antibiotics.
Naturally flying was done to be in order for the visitors but since then little else.
I really don't mind the heat and am happy to walk the almost 2 miles home from work in it every day. I detest the aircon in the office so coming out in to the heat is a relief.
I was up early today, shot out of bed at 10 to 7 thinking I had gone back to sleep after my alarms only to realise it was Saturday!
So I got in first with the WM and had the towels out on the line before breakfast. They were dry by the time the second lot went out. DS then dropped the grandkiddies off while he went into town to do a few bits so I had 2 little helpers putting the next lot out. Oh and you would be proud of me Valli, I had to match the pegs up to the point of going back and correcting the odd ones I had done at the start.
DS then delighted in telling me that DGD had got herself up this morning and by the time they woke up she had managed to find some chocolate which she had managed to get everywhere, there were apparently chocolate handprints on the sofa, the walls the stairs and she was covered from ear to ear so DiL had spent the morning scrubbing.
We are dog sitting for the week as they are away tomorrow and I do worry about their little chap. He was overweight for a while so they had to cut back on his food as instructed by the vet, but he is so tiny now you can see his ribs sticking out and he is always hungry. I'll weigh him in the morning and then again before he is picked up to see if he has gained anything.
I will be doing some list flying tomorrow as the house needs it but unsure if it will be am or pm. See you then

Hello, all. Hope you're all ok as it's quiet on here but maybe just busy with weekend things.
DH has gone to clear his mum's house so it's just me and Poppet today. I'll be looking after grandchildren tomorrow and Tuesday so I changed our bedding this morning. It's not washed yet as it's an on and off rainy day here.
Since walking Poppet and doing dailies I have spent time sorting out the greenhouse. Cucumbers and tomatoes are still doing nicely. Now having lunch then I'll do some puzzles and then some flying.

Afternoon all. One washload done, dried and put away. After yesterday's roast dinner, today we had cold gammon and roasted vegetables - tomatoes, red peppers, onions and precooked potatoes. I made a batch of flapjacks in case we get the promised visit which may or may not happen.
I dusted through downstairs and dustpanned the floors all through. Too early to get the vacuum out on a Sunday and I knew I wouldn't bother if I left it.
Worried about DD1's dog who is poorly :(
Hope everyone's OK x

I have scrubbed the kitchen sink and done dead heading in the back garden and have decided that's enough for today. Waiting for a delivery then I'll walk Poppet and jump in the shower. See you all on the next thread.

Evening all. It's been cooler here today, but no sign of rain yet. Please can you send us some of yours, Jazee?
I now have 18 jars of marmalade ready for sale, and there are two more tins of prepared oranges and lemons in the store cupboard, together with enough sugar to sink a battleship. I bought a big punnet of plums from MrT during a quick top-up shop this week (they're still quite hard), and today I snaffled three medium punnets of almost-ripe apricots from MrAl at 75% off the usual price - they will be fine for jam. The SC will be working overtime for the next few days, or until I run out of jam jars.
Other flying over the weekend has been limited to PUPA, WMx2, FUPA, and S&S as needed. I think my heart rate has gone back to normal after Thursday's panic, and I'm feeling better this evening having had lots of zzz while DH was out this afternoon. I've also managed to add a few more items of T's family history to the summary. If possible, that needs to be finished this coming week, but I have several appointments in my diary too.
Will see you all over on the new thread xxx

bedlinen washed, dried and bed re-made. I love fresh bedlinen.
We spent half an hour in the garden, some general tidying and sweeping the patio. It looks so much better. We also did a general tidy of our garden room which is meant to be an uncluttered, relaxed, zen space. Work in progress 😉
