SOLVED: Heathrow Terminal 4 Car Park closure: New Priority Pickup Lane

Good evening, all.

I always find Airport pick-ups particularly stressful! Where do I have to stand?

Now the Terminal 4 Car Park is closed, the Taxi driver will probably not like to meet me anymore at a certain Coffee Shop in Arrivals, as it would mean he has to use a Park and Ride System.

The Heathrow site has only given very brief instructions on where the arriving Passenger is actually being picked up from, when Priority Pick up is being used. (Most of the instructions are for the Driver and his Satnav and not the Passenger being collected!)

The only thing I have found is this very useful recent video with some blue signage. (About one minute long.)

Does anyone know if the Priority Pick-up Lane is actually right at the back?

(To me it would make sense not have its Lane before the parking areas for the Private Taxis and Ubers, as you would have their customers continually crossing the Priority Lane… and that would not be good, as in the Priority Lane, we are locked into a very tight Time Limit.)

UPDATE… or am I completely misreading this System… is this whole area in fact Priority Pick-up (some are Private hires like mine, and some are Ubers)?

I have read it. Priority Pick-up.

As the person arriving after a flight. It is not clear to me where I actually go and stand, to be picked up by a Taxi coming from the East Midlands. (And the pick-up needs to happen within ten minutes.)

(Coffee Shop was very clear in the old days.)

Watching that video, I was too busy watching the film itself and not the writing underneath.

At 45 seconds and at 1 minute 2 seconds we have the screenshots of its locations, and it is "Meeting Point Zone 1 (for App and Private Hire Pick-up)".

So now I know what the column looks like and exactly where it is. (To know where to stand underneath that sign.)
