I've been told that a Halifax balance transfer can not be made to a MBNA credit card.

I was of the understanding that this was possible last year according to Lloyds Banking Group.

I spoke to a chatbot that put me through to a humanoid.

The original thread is about a year old

At that time the best way to do this was a modest spend just before the statement date, and clear this just after statement date, thus incurring just a few pence interest for the sake of keeping the benefit of the whole balance transferred.

However earlier this year - according to T&C June or so but actually earlier - Halifax and Lloyds stopped charging interest on fully cleared spending alongside, so this could usefully be spread over a few weeks instead of days

As for the recent post, it is usually said that transfers cannot be done between cards in the same group. However I learned from some folks on here recently that Halifax - Lloyds and vice versa has been possible. Apparently not with MBNA though, per your experience. Did you actually try this, or were you asking them in advance?

My reply was relevant to both the original thread and the added query
