Hi, Does anyone know the best way to get cheap rail tickets in Britain?

if you go to https://www.trainline.co.uk put in your journey details and it shows the best prices depending on the time of travel etc.0

Read the cheap train thread in the Motoring & Public Transport subsection of this branch.
For Glasgow to Cambridge I suspect though the cheapest way would be a virginvalue fare to Euston, Tube to KX, then train to Cambridge
When you use thetrainline.com you'll reach a screen that in the top right hand corner says "journey options step 2 of 7" which is the first step that has actual prices. If you then click on the link beside "There may be alternative, slower routes with cheaper tickets.", it will tell you all - including the cheapest - fare for that route0
