I would email and phone. Leave a message. If no contact by end of day Monday, the contract is null and void. Imagine how slow they will be to send you survey results once they have your money.

That is exactly why I don't want to go ahead with it, I have already got a quote from another company and they have already sent me all the particulars for the property and given me specific time frames and lead times, and they even phoned me to check I had received these….different service altogether.

I can understand why I should wait until Monday as it's 14 days at that point but there is nothing to say I have 14 days to cancel.

If they are on holiday they may be back at work on Monday.

Would have expected an out of office in that case, or at least an email to let people know?

Unfortunately, people on an internet forum are never going to be able to answer this. All you can do is to keep trying to call/email until you get a response. If you are going to move to a new surveyor, make sure you've read the Ts and Cs of whatever you signed and send a very clear cancellation message - otherwise there's a chance you'll end up paying for both.

Hi All, update…

I sent an official cancellation email yesterday afternoon stating the reasons why I am cancelling the survey, still nothing.

Nothing in the T's & C's regarding any penalties or charges if I cancel and the fact they haven't acknowledged the original contract I sent or the cancellation email, says it all for me.
