New computer, has been working alright all today, and now the sound has stopped working, and havent got a clue why. I have a basic idea about computers, so i know it isnt set to mute, the right cables are wired up and to the right places, yet no sound.
It is a vista computer so has that realtek audio manager so dont know if thats affected anything, ive unplugged and replugged in the cable from the modem to the moniter (yes the sound on the moniter is turned on)
So basically i havent a clue, and the more observant of you will have noticed, ive been having a few different problems and queries over this computer.
So any ideas of how to fix this problem??

Device manager says that everything is working properly, soundwise and monitorwise.
Have tried using headphones but has not made a differenceNever knock on death's door, ring the doorbell and run away ..... he hates that :mad:0 -

Do you have a loudspeaker icon at bottom right near the time?
- Double click this (or find it via control panel, sounds ...)
- Click on mixer
- Check for any muted or turned down volumes
