CCJ what happens....
My DDs neighbour has just told me he has just received a CCJ for not doing anything about a PCN. He is retired, just state pension, rents a council flat and has no assets worth anything. He also has trouble reading and writing. the CCJ is for just under £240
He has no credit cards and does not use credit at all.
IMO he can just leave it to run out and not reply to any letters from bailiffs, debt chasers etc. then it will run out after 6 years.
Is this best or will they go after him perhaps taking money from his small pension?

Has he received a letter? If so can you obtain a copy and post a redacted version? Sometimes people confuse letters threatening CCJs with letters advising them of actual CCJs

There is no way a creditor with a ccj can attach to pension income.
They could attach to earnings.
You ask what will happen and the most likely answer is nothing. The second most likely is bailiffs, who are easily blocked. You are correct that after six years the ccj becomes unenforceable and also drops off a credit file.

He's probably exempt from court fees, so could apply to set it aside for nothing. And if there are no fees due he could do it by consent with the solicitor, avoiding a hearing. Assuming you could do the paperwork for him.
Find out who it's from and which solicitor.

Thanks all, my DD has seen it and it is a CCJ from a court. I will tell him to do nothing and not let anyone into the flat. Hopefully nothing will happen in the next 6 years. He is not worried about his credit record.
