2019/2020 tax credit letter
Hi all.
Bizarrely today I received a final tax credits award letter for tax year 2019/2020
Has anyone else received a random letter recently?
I stopped claiming it in 2024 as I changed job and no longer qualified.
Very confused

Yes, a couple of weeks ago I received the finalised tax credits award from 2004-05. Seeing it was from HMRC I thought it was a letter to explain my recently reduced tax code so was taken aback when I opened it and it said tax credits.
A four page letter explaining that we qualified for the sum of £0.00 and we were paid exactly that, £0.00, I suppose I should be happy that they were at least correct.

Many years ago we used to get letters like this from the tax credit people. We no longer qualified for help and I had closed our claim but each year we received a nil award. Went on for 5 or 6 years. Such a waste of resources.
