Faulty shower pump install - plumber won't refund, what's my claim worth? (England)

@Ergates Same here, i always take the safe route! I will be claiming for the initial £550 only, just wanted to get a sanity check from others, so thank you very much for your help and input.

@Aylesbury_Duck Yes i do have a registered address, he is listed on companies house and I have a receipt he sent me confirming the same address. Are you asking because of where I will be sending the letter to?

And what if it goes to court and I win, apparently even then he doesn't have to pay? And getting money thereon is a nightmare.

Quite honestly I am baffled he is willing to go to such lengths to avoid giving a refund, not to be all high and mighty about it all but blimey, the sheer lack of integrity behind his actions and his lack of taking any of this seriously, first time he came back to fix it he was 5 hours late, the second he came, look it over for about an hour then had the nerve to blame the valve and quote me another £650 to fix it. I just find his lack of empathy and professionalism really unsettling!

Go one step at a time. If he doesn't respond to the LBA, wait until it goes to court and you receive a favourable judgement, then worry about if he's going to pay you or not.
