Travel Insurance Claim
My parents were due to go on holiday tto Spain on the 8th July. However my dad was taken into hospital on 16th June, he was, after a few he was diagnosed with aggressive Lymphoma and the consultants decided not to give him treatment, he was 88, he was put on end of life palliative care and transferred to a care home where he died on 5th July.
My parents had a single trip policy, mum as the main policy holder and dad a named person on the policy. I have provided all documentation to their travel insurance provider, including invoice for accommodation as they were staying in a friend's apartment, hospital discharge letter, official death certificate. (Not claiming for flights as Easyjet compensated them directly)
The insurers are now asking for a copy of the Will (dad didnt have one) probate information, there is no probate as everything is transferred to mum automatically, now they are asking for a Letter of Administration.
Surely as my parents were travelling together and both on the same travel insurance policy, it should be a straightforward claim?

Sounds like normal process being followed by Insurers. They need to know who is legally dealing with the claim for your Dad and who to pay to. They cannot just presume your Mum is the correct legal person to deal with regarding financial affairs of your Dad.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Sorry for your loss so recently.
I agree with huckster. They will need to know who to pay to. Rather than get stressed, I would just provide the documents they're asking for.

I think that asking for the first lot of information is reasonable but the second lot re will / probate / LoA is unecessary
You need to explain to them he died intestate and there is no need for letters of administration as all the estate has gone to his wife.
