Energy Saving Devices - Impressive claims, but do they work?

The amount mof energy and money these devices claim to save seems impressive, but are they true? Does anyone know of an independent advisor who has tested them, or maybe you have tested them yourself?
If true, I'd love to buy some of these things...
Thanks!

There are so many items for sale it is impossible to comment on all of them.
However for a start, lots of their assumptions are absolutely ridiculous.
For instance for a TV they claim(and use in their calculations) it uses 50 Watts when on and 14 Watts(yes fourteen) on standby. Well all my TVs use more than 50 Watts in use, and all well under 1 Watt (one) on standby. That includes 2 old(8 years) CRT TVs. Virtually every manufacturer has similar standby consumption and I doubt if 14 watts on standby has been normal since the days of valves some 40 years ago.
So using those figures they can make their standby saver look simply a poor buy in money saving terms, instead of a completely stupid buy.
Their prices are huge - the Electrisave/owl(which saves nothing and is pretty useless anyway!) is double the price.
So if that is representative of all their goods I would steer well clear.
Yet another firm jumping on the 'Green' gravy train.0
