Holiday in porto with Kids

It's the only place I've been to where you have guys hanging around on the streets, helping drivers reverse park into parking bays, and then expecting a tip for their advice/guidance. As if you couldn't do it without them 🤣
I also recall there being protests on the streets when coffee vendors upped the price of an espresso from 0.40 euro, to 0.50.
Great place though. If you go, you must try a Francesinha (which translates to small French girl). A famous sandwich from Porto made with stacked layers of bread, steak, ham, and sausages, covered in melted cheese, a fried egg on top, and a hot tomato-beer sauce.

Pickpockets are a fact of life in almost all cities, not just Porto. Plenty in London, Manchester, Paris, Rome...

On another level in Lisbon and Barcelona. The industries in London and Manchester are tiddlers in comparison.

More reasons not to carry more than pocket money as cash and use cards to pay for as many things as possible.
It is also a good idea to have a spare upto date card stowed back at the hotel room.
Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0
