What are those things called - thin, mesh backing, kitchen walls / fire surrounds?
Not brick slips.
You can get all manner of patterns. These from memory have a mesh backing & I think you attach them to the wall with grout (I could be very wrong on that one).
Often see them used in kitchens on the wall or in the inset where you may have a wood burner.
Can't for the life of me think what they're called & as such I can't find them online.

If you look for brick effect panels you should find different types. For fireplaces look for brick effect fire backs.

Are you thinking of splash backs? In the kitchen at least, it would be a fire back in a fire alcove
