Having since exchanged a number of emails with Optimax I have learned they did acquire the liabilities also and continued to honour the guarantees for twelve months, however Ultralase continued to operate as a separate business as an Optimax Group company so not fully absorbed into the Optimax business. When it finally went into administration in 2013 and was subsequently resurrected as a new "entity" Ultrlase Eye Clinics Limited the parent group Optimax used this as a means to "legitimately" distance themselves from the lifetime guarantee only at this point when the legal entity they originally acquired ceased to exist did they cease to honour the guarantee
