Is installing proper split AirCon off-season worth it?

Although meant to be mildly amusing don't forget they are great for heating too so it's not just a summer product.
Not forgetting dehumidifying as well

Once the colder and wetter weather comes, everyone will have forgotten about A/C. We're talking about it now and will continue to talk about all over the summer and into Sept and at the moment, no-one can imagine not being warm. But it will only take a month or so of wet and cold weather and it will be a distant memory.

That might be the case for domestic installations (which make up a very small proportion of installations), but the much larger number of commercial installations will continue all year round. There isn't going to be a 'domestic' air conditioning company in the same way that some Gas Safe plumbers only work on domestic systems - the qualifications and certifications are the same for both domestic and commercial installations, so they are normally busy all year round.
Air con companies normally also install mechanical ventilation systems for commercial buildings, and might also install commercial kitchen ventilation systems, swimming pool heating systems, cold store systems etc.
They will also be undertaking maintenance contracts for installed commercial systems, as well as attending breakdowns, service issues etc.
No air con installer that I know is sitting around in winter waiting for the phone to ring.

Buy a ceiling fan much cheaper and means you can actually acclimatised to the warmth.

There is that but aircon really does chill the whole room. A worthwhile investment I think.

It is a good point about acclimatisation. Personally I am getting used to this hot Summer, and with the usual tactics of drawing curtains and opening and closing windows at the appropriate times, using fans etc., most of the time it is quite comfortable, even though I live in one of the hotter parts of the UK. I guess it helps that it is a house and not a stuffy flat.
Of course there have been a few uncomfortable days and nights, especially in the main heatwave in late June, but mostly we have got used to it.

Well yes agreed, but I thought this thread was about domestic installations, not commercial ones?
I accept that companies will be fairly busy all year round and it's also likely that the prices will be fairly consistent (apart from if they are artificially high now), but I think there will be less domestic demand - the point of the thread.
Also there is likely to be more stock available and parts. My neighbour had it fitted in his garden room (booked months back when hot weather was just a dream) and it went wromng after about a month but there are no parts to fix it.

I am interested in a ceiling fan, and I fully agree with you. A little air movement at night is all we need for a good sleep. You are not pumping heat outside either.
What make/type is that one, and from where did you buy it, if I may ask.

Apologies for the delay in responding! We bought it from here https://ollyri.com/products/modern-faux-wood-6-speed-reverse-frequency-fan-light?_pos=1&_psq=Fan&_psid=162a141a5&_ss=e&_su_rec=oB9oFBtz3t7JgkW7mBC07lr0_mJruurq2Nc1OL5SYlfLLzkoRVVZkfr7VKP_eEqLpy8m5fBMJOXVmqbu6k9IopIM00GcBIXIk-OZy0WQb9lK2wK6o_sjCKbE0UkQjozjHZbIjh447jrVpIY-OZWnZqp8e-2soTcpQh8rIGmjByez3KbuyPZ_zU-8MoZJ6_ifiqyUGk9sF_rZM4-xs77v-lqURfzBOfyTdNHhFG79phT3a6ME0yF9VbpKQjDU9Mo&_su_rec_id=59aefeed-a097-4c13-86ff-5ae4fd31f17b-1785667381
You can probably get it from Ali express for half the price but I’m happy to have a UK based company if needed.
I cannot state how useful this is and how well it works. We’re back to using duvets at night because of it

We've just cancelled our order and will rebook for the start of next year. Mitsubishi have a problem supplying the units due to some sort of warehousing software problem. Our kit was due this week, with installation 3rd week of August, but the supplier has no idea when it will arrive. Seeing that the guarantee will start from when it's installed, it makes little sense to us to install it at a time we won't be using it for 6 months. We have no need to use ours for heating. We will wait until early next year before trying again.
