Personal Injury Settlement - Timeline/Concern
I was in a crash in Jan, My solicitors have managed to agree a settlement with the 3rd party as of the 14th July.
I was given an "interim" payment of £741 on the 17th July. They still owe £4,156. The letter said the rest would follow shortly.
I have been trying to find online people talking about what sort of time frames they waited to get their settlement but I cant really find anyone talking about it.
Some places say 7 days, some 14, some 30 with a mixture of total days or working days.
It be nice to get the funds before the 5th of August as I am looking to get a new bike for a trip that weekend
What are my chances?
Cheers

Nearly £5k of injuries to be settled within 7 months would be unusual, whiplash reforms has made certain claims vastly quicker to resolve but at that value you arent talking about a minor soft tissue injury
Speak to your solicitors and find out whats preventing the third party from making the rest of the payment. What was the £741 for? does it match a particular head of claim like physio? Is quantum agreed or still being negotiated?
Most likely monies are awaiting evidence so it really depends if the evidence has been gathered and sent and therefore just awaiting review or if you've not even had the consultant's appoint yet in which case it could be months to go yet.

We can only guess on timescales. The person best placed to answer is your solicitors.
