Insulation options for garden shepherds hut

I'm making a toy shepherds hut for child.

I realised that my interior stud walls are 50mm deep and could take some kingspan insulation. But with no air gap except for the 2mm hidden gaps in the exterior shiplap I was going to leave for seasonal expansion.

The last thing I want is insulation dust inside or inadvertently creating a barrier that traps moisture

Is there an sensible option for insulation or should I just leave the stud walls empty?

I imagine it will get some sleepovers during summer but nothing more.

Unlikely you'll need insulation if that is the only habitation… and as you suggest, insulation may cause other problems.

If anything, measures to keep heat out in the summer might be necessary, but probably better to design in a flysheet to shade the hut if it gets too hot rather than built-in insulation.

Whatever you do, keep flammability of the materials in mind.

Thanks for the advice.

Definitely not having any sort of fire or heating in it. Only 12v lighting. Will get a fire extinguisher for it. Will be near an outside water tap too

What's the roof made of? Heat coming in that way in the summer and losing heat through it in the winter may be the easiest aspect of insultation for you to address

It might be a idea to get a minimum / maximum thermometer to put inside once it is built.

Can be surprisingly cool in the wee small hours, even at this time of the year.

It wasn't the temperature that put my kids off in the end - it was the spiders!

Roof im thinking two layers of flexible external plywood with an air gap. Thin felt tiles on top.

Corrugated sheet needs to be bent and expensive to purchase.

I haven't got equipment to steam timber to get it to bend

You can always tell them that will not be any mice if there are spiders.
