Saga Savings difficulty transferring funds

Thanks for all the replies. It might have been the amounts I was transferring, but I doubt it. Strange how one of you guys had problems with a transfer from NatWest as it's actually NatWest that are the bank behind the Saga account! I think I'll keep the account for now and monitor interest payments coming in. I've only recently joined the Forum, I'm impressed, so will keep posting.

Doubt if it was the amounts that were problematic, I transferred in just shy of 15k and it was OK. Did a similar amount a few days later, no problems. Both were from FD. I frequently move 5 figure sums in/out to/from EA and RS accounts, haven't had a suspected fraud block (for want of a better phrase) since a long long time ago.

NatWest do have recent 'form' though ... check the MSE RS thread a week or two back when Natwest seemed to initially block the majority of payments to the newly offered Buckinghamshire building society RS ......

Unlikely, I am over 50 and NatWest to Saga (run by NatWest) triggered a block due to potential scam and a phone call to unblock

I stupidly transferred money from my Chase account which is not my nominated account so am now waiting for it to be bounced back.

Anyone know how long this is likely to take ?

Doubt it - it’s not the job of the current account provider to enforce T&Cs of a 3rd party savings account - and in any case, the Saga T&Cs stipulate age 18 and above

did the deposit bounce at the Saga end? If yes, it can take anything from a few hours to a few days to get back

Chase say it has been accepted by Saga and have given me a faster payment ID number.

However Saga say it will be automatically rejected.

My Saga balance is still zero....

If your Saga balance is zero, I am quite certain they will return the money to Chase. How quickly it will arrive back in your Chase account, I am afraid, I don't know.

Despite the remaining lack of an app, I continue to be impressed with the Saga / Natwest account. Interest for July was credited yesterday (Saturday), and my 4-figure withdrawal today to my linked account was executed instantly.
