Embb - I completely understand the dog thing - our neighbours did that for about 18 months drove me senseless and caused a lot of bad feeling. In the end they split up and she took the dog with her.

Witchy - you sound just like me - I have all their teeth too and plan to do the same - some have fallen in half they are so old and dried up! Take heart you will get there. I am currently sticking to the list one week and cleaning and the next doing the minimum cleaning but lots of sorting/chucking and I can see the end in sight. You have to be in for the long game and that is how many new flyers have fallen along the way. Keep that dresser clear now - don't let what you have done fall back and you will keep making progress.

Right hall floor dry so can walk across to hoover the living room then lunch!

It is really odd in the family room without those boxes there - not even sure I like it.

Morning everyone! I'm feeling much better today, thank you for all the hugs and sympathy, much appreciated!!

It is horrible weather here, although not cold. It was just so dark when my alarm went off this morning, I came downstairs to check the time on the microwave to make sure I hadn't set the alarm clock wrongly!

I'm taking it easier today, so just flitting about a bit, doing a bit of catching up. I have washed up, washed the master bedroom bedlinen, and cleaned the bathroom to level 3, so feel quite justified sitting here with a coffee or two - won't be for long, as DD wants to meet friend in town, so I shall have to take her down, and I might as well combine with the trip to the building society and bank (and Boots??!!) - if I can fit that in before I have to take DS1 to school. He's only just got up, so will have to skip breakfast and go straight to lunch.

I've also had a short chat with my sister on the phone. Mum has tested clear of MRSA, and had the stomach feeding tube fitted. This means once she is stable and safe to move, that she can be transferred to a nursing home. So, huge learning curve of finding out about assessment, care plans, funding, and nursing homes. My sister, brother and father are going to look at one this morning, to see what it is like. I told sister that I have been playing ostrich for the last two weeks, as I started to feel that if I didn't have a break, that I would just crack up - and just need not to feel guilty that I haven't done as much as I could. It's brilliant though that we all get on so well - I can imagine that it would be awful if we were at odds. They have all been very supportive. I don't know why I find it so hard to cope with - I coped better when DS1 was so ill. Anyway, I shall go over and see Mum in the next couple of days - although not tomorrow, as I'm having a girly day out at Lakeside with DD and her friend, which I am very much looking forward to.

    :bdaycake: Happy Birthday Rach!!!

liloandstitch - relax, relax.Wishing you all the very best of luck.

tia - take care, I am happy to see that you are feeling better today, but dizziness is one of those health signs that should be checked.

(((hugs ))) to those stressed out fliers today.

Doh! meant to say earlier Witchypoo it doesn't matter that you didn't do the list cause you did something that was important to you, and for what it's worth I think clearing a huge hot spot is just the ticket to get you motivated, well done
Thanks! You are certainly right there! I keep turning around to look at it (computer is in the bedroom lol). I feel all warm and fuzzy hehe :rotfl:
Witchypoo - sometimes you need to just really tackle one thing - well done on clearing that dresser - that's another energy drain that you've got rid of.
Thank you! The praise and support definitely helps :T

Mumoftwo - thanks for sharing photos, that lot'll be shifted before you know it! You should see my daughter's (15 on monday) room!

Glad I'm not the only one re: teeth! I'll keep it clear and clean - that and the bed are the only things that look neat in this room!

    Quick update

Kids room sorted (apart from bedding may do that later depending on the washing moutain:o )
    Hoovered through
WM finished and on TD (all day rain here by the looks of it:mad: )
    Kitchen S & S
Sweet potatoe, butternut squash and courgette soup in SC
Chicken breasts taken out (will make nuggets later)
Lounge decluttered and all back where it should be

Am at a bit of a loss now, DD2 at lunch club until 12.30 so half an hour until I need to collect her.

May make an apple braid this pm just a half size one and then make iced cream buns with the other half of the dough.

Shall I trapse to the other end of town to get the parcel from the post office (hum! decisions, decisions). May pop to butchers at same time.

Tia - lovely shoes and what a bargain. I was on the look out for bargain boots but all seem to be sold out.

Serena - Hugs to you sweetheart. I dont know what your relationship with your mum was like before her illness but I know to me my Mum has always seemed like a rock. You know always strong and reliable, like you probably were when your son was ill. Not sure if I have explained that very well but I guess what I mean is who do you go to to make you feel better - mum (usually) and suddenly the roles have been reversed so its bound to feel very strange.

    :j Happy Birthday Rach

Hope everyone who has been feeling ill, feels better today and everybody who is stressed/depressed (including me) feels brighter soon.

Afternoon all (was morning when I started reading).

Three loads of washing done including DD's bedding and her mattress cover and pillow protectors. She has ordered a new mattress which was being delivered this afternoon so she stripped the bed this morning, put the duvet and pillows in the spare room, took the mattress off and propped it against the wardrobe ready to be moved........about 10am I got a phone call to say it's not coming until tomorrow so it will all have to be put back tonight and stripped again tomorrow. Ah well, at least they phoned.

Pouring with rain here, it's really dark and miserable.

I cleaned the bedrooms on Wednesday when I did mine. I have vacuumed through downstairs this morning and I cleaned out the fish tank (yep, he's still alive). Watched Waterloo Road.

Sorted through my CDs. I've ordered a new one, even though I promised myself I wouldn't, and I already had a few that wouldn't fit in the rack. I've taken out a few I don't listen to much but don't want to chuck away and put them upstairs in the case full of the freebies that we get from the newspaper. Managed to tidy it up and leave one space for my new one when it gets here. If I moved some more could I order more new ones? :D

    Happy Birthday Rach!

Pigpen, your picture made me smile. That was what my upstairs rooms were like when I first started posted on here! I had to sort it so that we could sell the house. A lot of mine was boggied. Six people in a small terraced with one reception just didn't work. In a bigger house the mess just spreads out a little more and looks nowhere near as bad.

Right I have two hours till time to collect DS1, and DH is due home at 1pm. Not done anything much other than dailies since Tuesday so a lot to do.

Anyone joining me for a HHC?

mumoftwo glad I am not the only house to have that picture on a wall in a kids room, HSM 2 is finally starting to drive me mad I don't normally mind these things and can block them out but its starting to get under the skin and I find myself humming the songs when they are not on.
