Turkey passport requirements
Hi All, trip booked to Turkey leaving on 20 September 2026, returning 27 September 2026.
Turkey govt website says passports must have an expiry date of 150 days left on them from the date of arrival.
One of our group has a passport which expires in September 2027 but the issue date is January 2017. Would this still be valid?
Another has a passport expiring April 2027, with an April 2017 issue date so I think this one is OK?
Can someone please sense check this for me?

The one issued in January 2017 will expire January 2027. They will need a new passport.
The other passenger should be fine.

If the passport has Date of expiry as Sep 27 then the date of expiry is Sep 27.
Turkey uses the actual date of expiry when considering passport validity, unlike the Schengen Area countries which use a 10 years from date of issue nominal expiry date.

There is always complete rubbish written about this. The expiry date of the passport is always the date shown as "date of expiry".
Some countries want the passport valid for a period after your travel. Sometimes this period is measured from date of arrival, sometimes the date of intended departure.
Most EU countries have an additional rule that the passport must be issued within 10 years of the date of arrival. This does NOT mean they consider the expiry date as 10 years from date of issue. They are different things. As discussed here several times. For instance I could enter the EU today with a passport issued 27/7/2016 and expiry date 27/12/2026 but I could not with a passport issued 27/7/2016 and expiry 27/7/2026.
Anyway, for the OP, see
Entry requirements - Turkey travel advice - GOV.UK
And for any other country just use the same URL replacing turkey with the country you're going to.
So those passports are all fine.

Thanks for the clarification. I completely missed the Turkey bit, even though it clearly says so, and was getting confused with the Shengen area requirements. That will teach me to post when I'm doing something else.
OP, ignore what I said earlier. I've been corrected. Apologies.
