Parkmaven collections letter

Heya,

I just got a collections letter for an incident that happened back in December. Annoyingly i had moved and assumed i had updated my cars details but we had only updated my partner's car. So i never received the original letter. I went to webuyanycar (WBAC) with my friend and partner (whos added on insurance to also drive the car) to get a valuation and they were at a rented property with other offices there. My appointment was at 16:40 and told the fine was issued at 17:30, they had input my cars details into the system at 18:30 as they had other customers arriving as i left.
I've contacted the office building and they said the portal doesn't let them cancel the fine as it's gone to collections and WBAC say they can't help either.

I've yet to contact Parkmaven or the debt collection company, i'm not 100% sure what was written on the parking signs at the office, as I'm hesitant to even go back in there to check if it says reg has a start time or if it's valid for the whole day once it's entered.
I've tried to look through the forums, as well as doing the classic ask chatgpt, but i really dont trust chatgpt for matters like this. But as everyones situation was slightly different i'm unsure what my situation is.
As it suggested saying to ignore it, but i guess it's having the right effect of stressing someone by having notices and letter such as this being sent to you. I assume it's also pointless trying to send an appeal letter to parkmaven?

Thanks in advance!

Nothing else you can do really. Anybody can invoice anyone else. Anybody can ask a debt collection company to write threatening letters.

Just ignore and look out for the court claim, which will just be discontinued like all DCB Legal cases.

Unless you wish to transfer liability, which will send them down a snake to square 1.

Well, you'll never have to pay this invoice so start ignoring them unless you move house or if you get a Claim Form or LBC.

You are not at appeal stage.

You don't contact the debt crawlers.

"My appointment was at 16:40 and told the fine was issued at 17:30".

You don't have a fine but was your car only exempted late, after you'd driven home?

yes, as when I was leaving another person had arrived and they went straight to talking so I assume the details were entered after that concluded.

for court claim or LBC letters, I assume they will simply use my current address they found? Would these need to be signed for or is simply sending via Royal Mail and hoping it arrives enough for them now. But how long would something like this be valid for? As having to permanently remember this to then update them if I move seems rather insane, if I move 5 years from now for example. To remember this invoice would be insanity as they’re a private company.

    No and no.

Obviously you must tell Parkmaven to erase the old address, or you risk them using the DVLA old address for a court claim at any time. There are 6 years to sue for money in this country.

This is all explained already in post 2 of NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST, including wording to use about your correct address and 'erasing' the old data.
