- Wait for physical copy of V750 to arrive in the post
- Get new physical number plates made up using the V750 and an ID document eg driving licence from an approved supplier
- Apply the plate to the car using the gov.uk portal: (you will need the vehicle's current V5 document (reference number) for this).
- Inform your insurance company of the change of registration

If you want the plate to remain private, just get the retention certificate and put it safely in a locked drawer. Take it out and look at it when you're sure nobody else is around.
The last thing you want to do is get it assigned to a car, and have to display it for the hoi polloi to see in public.1 -
Watching some of the dashcam videos on YT it seems that a private plate gives you the privilege of using a phone in traffic,
running red lights and also forcing your way through traffic.
It helps if you choose from a small group of cars which gives you added benefits.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Can't be very private if you're seeing it on youtube.
Unless they want it to be so private they simply haven't fitted plates at all? There's a lot of those around.0
