Court Claim from HighView Parking Limited
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice regarding a County Court claim I've just received from DCB Legal for private parking charges.
Here's the timeline:
- I received a Letter of Claim dated
23 Marchfor £170 each - Rather than ignoring it, I contacted them and
agreed a 3-month payment plan on 18 April. - They successfully collected the
first payment. - I was under the impression the remaining payments would be taken automatically, as agreed.
- DCB Legal now says the subsequent payments were
declined, but I never received any notification from them that the payments had failed or that the payment plan had been cancelled. I genuinely had no idea there was any issue. - Instead, I've now been served with
County Court claims Dated 13th July 2026for approximately£280
This feels very unfair. I made every effort to resolve the matter before court proceedings by entering into a payment plan in good faith. If the later payments genuinely failed, I believe DCB Legal should have contacted me and given me the opportunity to rectify the issue before issuing court proceedings.
My questions are:
- Does the fact that we had an agreed payment plan provide any basis for defending the claims, or at least arguing that court proceedings were unreasonable or premature?
- Can I ask the court to take into account that I had already started paying and was attempting to settle the debt?
- Has anyone had a similar experience with DCB Legal issuing claims despite an existing payment arrangement?
I have all the emails confirming the payment plan and proof that the first payment was successfully collected.
Any advice on the best way to proceed would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Could you please let me know what are the next steps i should take? Thanks

It's a generic claim that makes no mention of a payment plan.
What is the amount they're claiming? Have they deducted your first payment?
2 -
With an issue date of 13/07/26 and providing you complete(d) the AoS before or on 01/08/26 your defence deadline date is 4.00 p.m. on 17/08/26
Use the template defence for "no breach pleaded"

This!
Show us the whole Claim Form page but redact the claim no, your name, address, your VRM and the MCOL Password.
This (and your other case with Blaze) might be worth a court claim x 2 to get your money back after these two claims have both been discontinued, which they will.
Point being, if they 'discontinue the whole claim' x2 over these PCNs - which they will by the Winter - then they took your money under false pretences and it's in a black hole: paid to DCB Legal and not remitted to the Claimants (whose claims will be marked as not settled / discontinued).
Claims after discontinuances are better than counterclaims. Keep this in mind as your ultimate revenge
But you should NEVER EVER have contacted them or agreed to payment plans. Never do that again. What were you thinking?! Nobody pays and you certainly didn't owe £170 each!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
